03What Money Can’t Buy

Edinburgh was named the first UNESCO City

of Literature for its quality, quantity and diversity of

publishing. It is also where local resident, JK Rowling,

wrote each one of her Harry Potter novels.


Alternatively known as The Honours of Scotland, these date back to the 15th and 16th Centuries and are the oldest crown jewels in the British Isles. The existing set were first used for the coronation of Mary I in 1543 and were also worn by Queen Elizabeth II during her first visit to Scotland as sovereign in 1953. You will be able to enjoy a private guided tour of the Crown Jewels deep within the ancient rooms of Edinburgh Castle.
