Romans 8:6

“For the mind set on the flesh is
death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,”
Romans 8:6
“Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on
earth.”Colossians 3:2

“For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even
weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose god is their
appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on
earthly things.”Philippians 3:18-19

Constant Awareness of
God’s Presence All through the day, we need to have thoughts
about God.
7
“As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul
pants for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the
living God; When shall I come and appear before
God?”Psalm 42:1-2
8
Isaiah 26:8-9“Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, O Lord, We have
waited for You eagerly; Your name, even Your memory, is the desire of our souls. At night my soul longs for You, Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You
diligently; For when the earth experiences Your judgments The
inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.”

“Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God
took him.”Genesis 5:24
“These are the records of the generations of Noah.
Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah
walked with God.”Genesis 6:9
We Need To Daily Walk With
God

God controls the affairs of life
•James 4:15
•Proverbs 27:1
“Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or
that."”
“Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring
forth.”
11
Luke 12:17-21“'What shall I do, since I have no place to store my crops?' "Then he said, 'This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my
goods. 'And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to
come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry." ' "But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?' "So is the man who stores up treasure for himself, and is not
rich toward God."”

Psalm 119:97
“O how I love Your law! It is my
meditation all the day.”
Psalm 119:97
“But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful
hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in
what he does.”James 1:25

•The one who trembles at God's word is accepted of God–Isaiah 66:2
“For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being,"
declares the Lord. "But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.”
15
“We need to repent of the haughty way in which we sometimes stand in judgment upon Scripture, and must
learn to sit humbly under its judgment instead. If we come to Scripture with
our minds made up, expecting to hear from it only an echo of our own
thoughts and never the thunderclap of God's, then indeed he will not speak to us and we shall only be confirmed in
our own prejudices. We must allow the Word of God to confront us, to disturb
our security, to undermine our complacency, and to overthrow our
patterns and behavior.”John Scott

•Spiritually minded people appreciate truth even when it reproves and rebukes.–Hebrews 4:12
“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing
as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and
marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the
heart.”Hebrews 4:12
Isaiah 30:9-10“For this is a rebellious people, false sons, Sons who refuse to listen To the instruction of the
Lord; Who say to the seers, "You must not see visions"; And to the prophets, "You must not prophesy
to us what is right, Speak to us pleasant words, Prophesy
illusions.”
2 Timothy 4:3-4“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled,
they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and
will turn aside to myths.”
Romans 16:18“For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own
appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the
hearts of the unsuspecting.”
17
"It is better to be divided by truth than to be united in error. It is better to speak the truth that hurts and then
heals, than falsehood that comforts and then kills. It is not love and it is not
friendship if we fail to declare the whole counsel of God. It is better to be hated for telling the truth than to be loved for
telling a lie. It is impossible to find anyone in the Bible who was a power
for God who did not have enemies and was not hated. It's better to stand
alone with the truth than to be wrong with a multitude. It is better to
ultimately succeed with the truth than to temporarily succeed with a lie."
(From Adrian Rogers, Quoted in The Berean Call, Dec. 1996, p. 3)

Let us speak Spiritual Words

Speak words that minister graceEphesians 4:29
“Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only
such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give
grace to those who hear.”
Colossians 4:6“Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with
salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.”
Proverbs 25:11“Like apples of gold in settings of
silver Is a word spoken in right circumstances.”
Ruth 2:4“Now behold, Boaz came from
Bethlehem and said to the reapers, "May the Lord be with you." And they said to him, "May the Lord
bless you."”
Proverbs 31:26“She opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on
her tongue.”

Speak words that minister grace
•Through weakness, we fail in this.
•Let us have the courage to speak spiritual words.Psalm 37:30-31“The mouth of the righteous utters
wisdom, And his tongue speaks justice. The law of his God is in his heart; His steps do not slip.”
Psalm 71:17-18“O God, You have taught me from my youth, and I still declare Your wondrous deeds. And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.”

receiving the promises but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers
and exiles on the earth.”

God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”
