1. SERIAL CONNECTION TO A PC• Direct connection to the PC via a serial cable.• Suitable for dataloggers with a serial RS-232 port.• Communication via a serial connection via Opton/ Stylitis Explorer.
RS-232
2. CHANNEL DISPLAY OF DATALOGGERS WITH SERIAL PORTS IN WEB PAGES
• Display of the desired channels from one or two dataloggers, via Apeicon, an external low-cost web page server for Stylitis dataloggers.
• Display of the desired channels, along with the logos, photos, etc, which the user wishes in the same web page.
• The web page is available both locally in Apeicon’s screen and in the local network or the internet.
• One or two dataloggers with an RS-232 port are required, which will be connected to Apeicon’s serial ports.
• Note: Such a web page can also contain datalogger channels from different types of connections: Serial, Ethernet and Diameson.

3. CONNECTION VIA GSM MODEM• Dataloggers with a GSM modem (either built-in module or an external one) are required.• A GSM SIM card is required.

4. CONNECTION TO A LOCAL NETWORK
• A datalogger with a built-in Ethernet module is required.• Connection of the datalogger to the local network.
LANDatalogger with an internal
Ethernet module.
5. CONNECTION TO THE INTERNET
• An ADSL (static IP) connection and a datalogger with a built-in Ethernet module are required.
• Connection of the datalogger to the ADSL Router.
• Note: Communication is accomplished via this static IP address.

6. CHANNEL DISPLAY OF DATALOGGERS WITH AN ETHERNET PORT IN WEB PAGES. • Display of the desired channels from one or more dataloggers, via Apeicon, an
external low-cost web page server for Stylitis dataloggers.• Display of the desired channels, along with the logos, photos, etc, which the user
wishes in the same web page.• The web page is available both locally in Apeicon’s screen and in the local network
or the internet.• One or more dataloggers with a built-in Ethernet module are required, which,
along with Apeicon, will be connected to the LAN or the internet via an ADSL Router.

7. GPRS CLIENT CONNECTION (DIAMESON)• Connection of dataloggers and computers to Diameson Gateway, Symmetron’s
server software.• A cheap GPRS dynamic IP SIM card is required.• Neither an ADSL (static IP) connection is required nor expensive static IP SIM
cards.• Low operation cost: The datalogger is permanently online, but only data exchange
is charged.• Dataloggers with a GPRS modem are required (built-in internal module or
Sym-o-net).

8. CHANNEL DISPLAY OF DATALOGGERS WITH A GPRS MODEM IN WEB PAGES.
• Display of the desired channels from one or more dataloggers, via Apeicon, an external low-cost web page server for Stylitis dataloggers.
• Display of the desired channels, along with the logos, photos, etc, which the user wishes in the same web page.
• The web page is available both locally in Apeicon’s screen and in the local network or the internet.
• One or more dataloggers with a GPRS modem (built-in internal module or Sym-o-net) are required, which along with Apeicon will be connected to Diameson, Symmetron’s software server.
• A cheap dynamic IP GPRS SIM card is required.

9. CONNECTION VIA 2 RF MODEMS• A datalogger with an RS-232 port is required.• Connect an RF Modem to the datalogger and one to the computer.• Achieve remote connections without a SIM card
• Note: According to the modem’s model, there is an upper limit for the distance between the computer’s modem and the measuring station’s modem (eg for the ARF53, it is 6km).

10. MEASURING NETWORK VIA RF MODEMS• Capability of communication with multiple dataloggers (one at a time), by using an
RF modem for the computer and one for each datalogger.• Connect one RF Modem to the computer and one to each datalogger.• Achieve remote connections (to one datalogger at a time) without a SIM card.
• Note: Similarly to the simple pair, according to the modem’s model, there is an upper limit for the distance between the computer’s modem and each measuring station’s modem (eg for the ARF53, it is 6km).

11. RF MODEM NETWORK VIA AN ADSL CONNECTION
• This is a similar capability to the previous application, with the difference that there is no limit in the distance between the computer and the measuring networks.
• One modem is connected again to each datalogger, and there is a central modem which the computer accesses remotely and not serially.
• An ADSL (static IP) connection is required and the communication will be achieved via an Ethernet connection. The computer’s modem will be connected to the ADSL Router.

12. RF MODEM NETWORK VIA GPRS• This is a similar capability to the previous application. One modem is connected
again to each datalogger, and there is a central modem which the computer accesses remotely and not serially.
• A Sym-o-net with a GPRS dynamic IP SIM card is required, with which the communication will be achieved via Diameson (see Chapter 7).
• The computer’s modem will be connected to the Sym-o-net.

13. CONNECTION VIA SATELLITE• Two satellite iridium modems are required, one connected to the computer and
one to the datalogger.• Communication is achieved via satellite.
