This page is from a previous assignment
Rationales for Media Usage:1. Students will have a understanding of course exceptions and requirements 2. Students will have a basic understanding of what PF testing is

The stars will change colors when clicked and have a sound associated with them. Clicking on the arrow will take learners back to Introduction
Rationales for media usage:Basic understanding of what is expected of learner completing moduleThe use of sound and color change of stars will draw student attention to each goalLearners directed back to introduction to complete each section in sequence.

Short video demonstrating pulmonary function testing.
Rationales for media usage: The introduction uses three different medias to introduce the subject matter. Contributes to a basic understanding of PF testing

Lung Review Primary parts of the lung are identified. Students should be familiar with terminology from prior classes this slide will act as a refresher. Students should try to name parts prior to rolling over part.
Rationales for media usage:This serves as a refresher and meets the goal of defining respiratory system. Provides a interactive activity for learners.

File Name: PF StorybookPulmonary function section use to navigate students to the five sections that make up this part of the module
Correlates with the rest of the module. The arrows will be links that take students to sections for PF
Rationales for media usage:General information broken into small sections. Much of this information was introduced to students during their anatomy and physiology course. The requirement is that they have taken anatomy and physiology within the last five years. As nurses they will be expected to know and apply this information. Further meets the objective of basic understanding of PF testing.
Unit Title; Patient AssessmentLesson Title: Pulmonary FunctionFlowchart Frame 8 of 15Date 3/10/2011
File Name: Pulmonary Function IntroductionIntroduce student to course, objectives for course
Discussion will describe equipment . What is important here is the use of correct terminology when describing equipment.
Rationales for media usage:Meets the objective to identify terms associated with PF testing. Nurses converse with colleagues and chart information therefore they need to be knowledgeable and use correct terminology
Unit Title; Patient AssessmentLesson Title: Pulmonary FunctionFlowchart Frame 9 of 15Date 3/10/2011
File Name: PF StorybookTerminology used to describe PF results
Common terms used in pulmonary function will be listed when rolled over definition will appear. Students should have some familiarity with these terms from anatomy and physiology classes.
Rationales for media usage:Same as prior screen. Meets the objective to identify terms associated with PF testing. Nurses converse with colleagues and chart information therefore they need to be knowledgeable and use correct terminology.
Unit Title; Patient AssessmentLesson Title: Pulmonary FunctionFlowchart Frame 10 of 15Date 3/10/2011
File Name: PF StoryboardQuiz of terminology.
Learners will be quizzed on the terms they studied in the prior slide. If they select the wrong answer I would like to have audio that says wrong and a audio that says correct for right answer. The quiz should be fun.
Rationales for media usage:Identify terms associated with PF. Reinforcement of prior knowledge.

When topics are rolled over a short discussion will appear.
Note. There may be links for more information.
Rationales for media usage:This will provide student with necessary information to interpret PF testing results.
Unit Title; Patient AssessmentLesson Title: Pulmonary FunctionFlowchart Frame 12 of 15Date 3/10/2011
File Name:PF StorybookLung diseases difference between restrictive and obstructive.
Discussion on the two main types of lung diseases and difference. A list of most common types of diseases in each category. When restrictive or obstructive is click a list of diseases will appear on the screen.
Note: Only basic info will be presented links will be provided for more information
Rationales for media usage:It is important for nurses to recognize the difference in diseases as each requires different care.
Unit Title; Patient AssessmentLesson Title: Pulmonary FunctionFlowchart Frame 13 0f 15Date 3/10/2011
File Name:PF StorybookPF testing interpretation instructions
Step by step directions on how to interpret PF testing for obstructive and restrictive lung disease.
Rationales for media usage:Nurses often care for patient after testing and must convey results to MD. Care of patient often depends of a nurses knowledge. Understanding how to interrupt test results will help the nurse know the status of her patient,if they are improving or getting worse. Meets goal of interpreting PF test results

File Name:PF StoryboardCase studies, practice interpreting PF test results
Will link to three case studies for students to practice acquired skills
Rationales for media usage:Practice acquired skills
Unit Title; Patient AssessmentLesson Title: Pulmonary FunctionFlowchart Frame 15 of 15Date 3/10/2011
File Name: PF StoryboardCase study sample
There will be three frames for case studies. A scenario will be provided and the student will need to determine if the patients values suggest restrictive, obstructive or normal. When the student clicks on their answer a explanation of why that answer is correct or not correct will appear.
Rationales for media usage:Practice acquired skills
