3. Date of good work done :- 12-03-2015 4. Brief of the work done :- On 12/03/15 based on a reliable information three
hardcore criminals in age group of 25 years were arrested who were planning to kill a known
personality from Dombivili, Thane. Two sophisticated fire arms and ammunitions were seized from
them. They were arrested in DCB,CID, Cr. no. 37/15 u/s 115 r/w 302,120(B) IPC r/w 3,25 Arms
Act r/w 37(1),135 BP Act. In the investigation it was found that they were acting on behalf of
Organized crime syndicate gangster Ravi Pujari who is abroad. As such MCOC Act was applied to
this case. During the course of further investigation their associate who was an old friend of
gangster Ravi Pujari with criminal records and who was actively involved in the offence was
arrested. After sustained interrogation and tapping sources in Thane and Dombivli two more
associates of gangster Ravi Pujari were arrested in this case.
Details of the accused persons
1. A Youth Age 24 Yrs R/o Kalyan (East).
2. A Youth Age 21 Yrs, R/o- Vasind(E), Dist-Thane.
3. A Youth Age 23 Yrs, R/o- Borivili. Mumbai
4. A Middle aged Age 56 Yrs. R/o - Titwala, Dist Thane
5. A Middle aged Age 48 Yrs R/o - Dombivili, Dist Thane
6. A Youth Age 37 Yrs R/o - Dombivili, Dist Thane
The arrest in this case has led to the seizure of 5 sophisticated fire arms and 17 live round, 13
mobile phones till date. From the above fire arms one .32 revolver of deceased Jaywant Mhatre who
was killed by gangter Ravi Pujari in 2005 is also recovered from accused no. 6 in this case. The
shooters in Jaywant Mhatre case were arrested by AEC before a month.
The accused no. 1,2,3 were actually going to commit firing in the crime on the target.
Accused no. 4, 5 and 6 provided all logistical support. They also provided information about the
prospective targets to gangster Ravi Pujari who used to threaten them and extort money. The phones
used for the offence and communications were recovered. Accused no. 6 is a businessman from
Dombivili and was involved in this cartel.
The Anti Extortion Cell of Crime Branch, Mumbai has busted the entire cartel of gangster
Ravi Pujari.

4. Brief of the work done :- The Anti Extortion Cell of Crime Branch Mumbai conducts
regular action against gangsters in and around the city of Mumbai. In the last last few days Faeem
Muchmuch an associate gangster of Dawood gang who is based overseas was continuously threatening
a Mumbai based builder from the western suburb and his employees. The gangster associate was
demanding Rs. one crore as extortion amount. Failing which he had threatened to kill the employees of
the builder. The Builder and his employees were threatened ß Hum pyar mohobbat se baat kar rahe hai,
tumko dhamka nahi rahe hai, hame awaj nikalne ata hai, uski pehachan upar bade bhai tak hai, usko ek
karod rupaiya de do aur matter khatam karo Þ The builder and his employees where continuously
receiving threat calls from Pakistan number. They later made complaint to the Crime Branch. The Anti
Extortion Cell was asked to probe in the matter.
The Anti Extortion Cell conducted confidential enquiries and identified the b/m person who was
closely associated to Faeem Muchmuch. He was threatening the builder and had provided total details
of the builder, his employees and the project to him. As such the gangster from Pakistan was demanding
extortion amount of one crore rupees. A case was registered at D.N. Nagar Police Station vide CR no.
300/15 u/s 387,34 IPC.
The Anti Extortion Cell swung in to action and nabbed the b/m associate of Faeem Muchmuch
from Andheri. After proper enquiries he was arrested in this case. He was previously arrested by
Talasari Police Station. Thane in a murder case and was in jail for 8 years. He was remanded to police
custody till 11-5-2015 by Court. Efforts are made to trace his associates.

4. Brief of the work done :- The Anti Extortion Cell, Mumbai. regularly keeps tabs on
Gang related activities and extortion calls in Mumbai. During the regular course of actions against
gangsters a reliable information was received on 23/02/15 to the effect that four hardcore criminals
in their 30's were planning to kill a prominent personality from Thane district. They had arranged
sophisticated firearms and ammunitions and were to meet finally near R-Mall Mulund ( West)
around 16.00 hrs for further executing their plans. Immediately a trap was arranged by officer and
men of AEC and the b/m accused persons were arrested. A case was registered at Mulund Police
Station CR No 92/15 u/s 115, 302, 34, 120(B), IPC r/w 3, 25 Arms act. They all were arrested in
this case.

1. A Youth Age 32 Yrs R/o Delhi.
2. A Youth Age 40 Yrs, R/o- Dombivali(E), Dist-Thane.
3. A Youth Age 27 Yrs, R/o- Delhi.
4. A Youth Age 29 Yrs, R/o- Dombivili (E), Dist-Thane.
Details of the accused person Accused No 1, is earlier arrested in an arms act case in 2003 in Mumbai, he had shot dead
Jaywant Mhatre a builder in Dombivili on 13/05/05 (Wanted in this Shootout case)
Accused No 2 was previously arrested in Robbery cases at Kurla and Malad Police Stations. He
is wanted in murder case of Jaywant Mhatre a builder at Dombivili.(Vishnunagar P stn CR 44/05
u/s 302, 34, 120(B), IPC r/w 3, 25, 27 Arms act). He is also wanted in the Carbine Seizure case of
AEC in 2014( LAC 15/14)
Accused No 4 was previously arrested in a kidnapping case at Wagle Estate Police Station and
is on bail. With the arrest of these criminals major shoot outs are prevented by Crime Branch.

4. Brief of the work done :- Receiving this information AE Cell started
ascertaining and developing this information, the activities of the b/m person were
monitored. He is an auto rickshaw driver & was found to be on the records of Borivali
Police Stn having few cases against him. AEC officials travelled in his auto rickshaw for
couple of times as passengers, studied his body language, nature and closely monitored
him. He was called for enquiries and interrogated at length regarding his criminal
activities in the last several years. In the sustained & skillful interrogation he smartly
tried to evade imp questions but finally confessed to two brutal killings by him. The AEC
officers and men successfully detected two important murder cases committed by him
along with his associates in July 2011.
First Crime: In the first week of July 2011 the b/m accused (A) along with his
friends Guddu (Mohiddin Shaikh @ Munna @ Guddu) and Desouza (Shivkumar @
Desouza Natraj Shetty) had gone to Nashik. The trio after visiting Trimbakeshwar came
to Nashik city. At Nashik they Stopped a Zylo vehicle going towards Mumbai and told
the driver to take them to Mumbai fixing the charge as Rs 100/- per person. When the
vehicle approached near Shahpur these 3 accused persons throttled the driver and killed
him in the vehicle. They threw his body in the bushes on the highway near Mokhadi,
Varaskod, Shahapur and robbed his vehicle, mobile, cash & gold chain valued at Rupees
7 lacs and made their escape. On 5/7/11 the unknown dead body was recovered by
Shahapur Police Stn and a case vide CR No 127/2011 U/s 397, 302, 201 IPC was
registered. The accused Guddu and Desouza were later arrested in this case. This accused
(A) was not traced and was leading a normal life.
Second Crime: On 11th
July 2011 accused (A) along with his cousin accused
Shekhar Shetiyar, Guddu, and Lala had killed a businessman from Santacruz, Mumbai.
The said businessman had good financial relations with Shekhar Shettiyar and his family
members. On 11/07/11 in the early hours the businessman (X) who resides in Santacruz,
was called for some work. He accompanied Shekhar Shetiyar in a Sumo vehicle. The
accused (A), accused Guddu and Lala joined the vehicle on the Western Express
Highway at Parle where they were waiting for Shekhar Shetiyar as per the plan. They
took the Sumo to Lonavala and all the 4 accused killed the businessman in the car by
throttling him. His face/head was smashed with a big stone and his body was thrown in
bushes at Battery hill, Lonavala, Dist Pune. Later all the 4 accused escaped. On
17/07/2011 the said dead body was taken charge by Lonavala City Police Stn vide ADR
39/2011. In Mumbai Santacruz Police Stn had registered a Adult Missing complaint vide
52/11 after Victims nephew complained to them. The dead body identified from parts of
the body and was later handed over to the relatives of the Victim by Lonavla Police. The
murder remained un-disclosed/ undetected.
I) Details of accused in crime 1:
Accused (A) – age 28 yrs, Occ – Rickshaw Driver, R/o – Borivali (W) Mumbai
He was earlier arrested in Robbery and murder cases and several non-
cognizable offences are registered against him at Borivali Police Station.
Accused Mohiddin Shaikh @ Munna @ Guddu age 26 yrs, Occ – Nil, presently in
Thane Jail in a firing case on Kanjurmarg Railway Station.
Accused Shivkumar @ Desouza Natraj Shetty – age 27 yrs, occ – Nil,
II) Details of accused in crime 2:
Accused (A) – age 28 yrs, Occ – Rickshaw Driver, R/o – Borivali (W) Mumbai
Shekhar Shetiyar, age 35 yrs., occ – Nil, presently in Thane Jail in a murder case.
Accused Mohiddin Shaikh @ Munna @ Guddu age 26 – presently in Thane Jail

Accused Lala age : 35 yrs., occ : Nil, presently in Taloja Jail in a robbery case.
Presently accused (A) is handed over to Shahapur Police Station. Information
about the brutal murder has been given to Santacruz and Lonavla Police for legal action.

4. Brief of the work done :- The Anti Extortion Cell, Mumbai. regularly keeps
tabs on extortion calls in Mumbai. The complainant in this case is a Tax Consultant and
his son is a builder by profession from the western suburb in Mumbai. The complainant
and his son was receiving threat calls from overseas numbers. The caller identifying
themselves to be one Vikrant Thakur and Rohit bhai from Bangkok and demanded 15
crores from the victims. The callers threatened that the complainant who is the Tax
Consultant had informed authorities and raided a place recenctly were in bhai's friend
had suffered loss of 15 Crores. Our Bhai-named Ravi Bhai is anoyed and demanded 15
Crores from the Tax Consultant. The threat calls were received constantly by the
complainant and his son.
Later they received calls from local numbers at Dahisar. The complainant had
approached local police station and Anti Extortion Cell. An offence was registered at
Dahisar Police Station vide CR. No. 269/15 u/s 387,34 IPC. The investigation was
handed over to AEC.
The AEC officers and men minutly studied the threat calls, the international
numbers, the local numbers and after proper analysis, tapping local sources arrested the
b/m two accused persons.
Details of the accused persons :-
One youngster having age 26 years R/o Dahisar, Mumbai
One middle aged person having age 40 years R/o Dahisar, Mumbai
The accused at sr.no. 1 is a local resident of Dahisar, a graduate and working on a
builder's site at Dahisar.. He is having an assault case against him at Dahisar Police
Station. Accused no. 2 is a youth wing dignitary of a political party having his office at
Dahisar. He is earlier arrested in three cases by police. A Murder case from Poladpur,
Dist - Raigad, a rioting and an extortion case from Dahisar. He knows the complainant
well and was instrumental in orchestering the threat calls received by the complainant in
this case. Accused no. 1 and 2 had made calls from the local numbers. Investigation
regarding overseas calls made by their associates and other aspects is in progress.The
accused are remanded to police custody till 15/6/2015.

4. Brief of the work done :- The complainant in this case is a builder by profession
from the eastern suburb in Mumbai. He was constantly receiving threat calls for extortion
money of Rs 1 crore from overseas numbers. Later they received threatening calls from local
landline numbers at Ghatkopar and Tilak Nagar. As such the complainant made complaint to
the Crime Branch. The Anti Extortion Cell was asked to probe in the matter.
The Anti Extortion Cell conducted confidential enquiries and on 1/7/2015, an offence
was registered at Tilak Nagar Police Station vide CR. No. 203/15 u/s 387,34 IPC. The
investigation was handed over to AEC. vide DCB, CR. No. 72/15.
After proper analysis, trap was laid and b/m two accused persons were arrested red
handed form Ghatkopar ( East ) in said offence by AEC. mobile phones with SIM card, trap
money along with incriminating articles are seized from them.

One youngster having age 31 years R/o Ghatkopar, Mumbai
The accused at sr.no. 1 and 2 are local resident of Ghatkopar, On the instruction of overseas
gangster they gives threats to complainant from local telephone number for extortion money of
1 crore. Accused no. 1 and 2 are remanded police custody till /7/2015. Investigation is in
progress.

4. Brief of the work done :- The complainant in this case is a prominent
businessman having good business in packaging industry. He had recently put up a new
plant at Silvasa. He was in need of finance of Rs. 10 Crores and had approached a broker
friend from Surat.
In July 2015 his friend/broker from Surat told him that he has got a good contact with Ajay
and Ankush from Nagpur, who has good financer with them. They can invest big money.
Later they were called with original papers at Nagpur by Ajay and Ankush and their
financer Mr. Mohasin On 19/7/2015 the complainant and his father, his cousin and broker
from Surat went Nagpur. Their they met Ajay and Ankush in a hotel. They further took all
the four to meet Mr. Mohasin. After a drive of three and a half hours. Ajay and Ankush
took them in a jungle of Gadhchiroli District were a person called Mohasin ( who claimed
to be member of Naxal Organization ) met them. Their the original documents of property
and three original passports with three pancards of the complainant and his father and his
cousin where shown to Mr. Mohasin. He told them that he will check these documents and
returned them the next day and then arrange for their finance. Later the complainant came
to Mumbai with his cousin. His father and the broker stayed in Nagpur. The same day the
Surat broker was taken away by Ajay and Ankush. The next day the complainant was told
over phone that, documents given by him were bogus and was called back to Nagpur for
discussion. The complainant and others went to Nagpur, they were again taken to the same
jungle after a long drive. After reaching the place the complainant found that, his Surat
based broker was confined in a room. Mr. Mohsin yelled at them saying that, all the
documents are bogus. The complainant and his cousin and father explained that, all the
documents were genuine. However Mr. Mohsin and four of his goons were not ready to
listen and demanded 10 lakhs rupees from them. They told that, they will not relieve the
Surat broker till they get Rs. 10 Lakhs . As their lives were in danger and they were in a
jungle, the complainant had no escape. He pleaded and paid Rs. 1,10,000/- which was with
him to them and assured to pay the remaining amount afterwards.
The Anti Extortion Cell officers and men immediately took up the case. They
scrutinized the details in the complaint and analyzed all the aspect related to the threat and
guided the complainant. His complaint of extortion was registered at Nagpada Police Stn
( CR NO 371/15 u/s 385,420,341,34 IPC)
The threat calls continued from Mr. Mohsin and the demand of extortion was finally
settled at 3 Lakh Rupees to return the original documents and passports. The accused
Mohasin from Nagpur later sent the b/m lady alongwith the original documents to receive
the extortion amount of 3 Lakhs. However in the nick of time the AEC officers and men
disguised as passenger and office goers, shadowed the lady from CST Rly. Station to the
fast food center and after She handed over the original documents and received the trap
money from the complainant the AEC team nabbed her red handed. After interrogation she
was confessed to the offence. She was handed over to Nagpada Police Station.

The Modus Operandi:
The accused is resident of Kolhapur. After marriage she shifted to Kalyan.
She is a member of a Dance & Acting Academy and participates in shows. She
went to Nagpur for her shows their she got in touch with Mr. Mohsin and later
they became good friends. She also stayed at his residence for 15 days at
Gadhchiroli. She is his closed friend & associate now and was in constant touch
with him. On 13 Sept. 2015 she met Mohsin at Bhusaval. At the said place Mohsin
disclosed the entire plan to her and to receive the extortion amount of 1.90 Lakhs
from Mumbai. At his instance with all knowledge she took the original papers of
the complainant and came to Mumbai to receive the extortion amount and was
trapped.

4. Brief of the work done :- The Anti Extortion Cell, Mumbai. regularly keeps
tabs on extortion calls in Mumbai. The complainant in this case is a businessmen having
his residence and office in eastern suburbs of Mumbai. He is into finance broking
business having good reputation. He resides with his family in Eastern Suburbs of
Mumbai.
In Sept 2015 he started receiving threatening calls from international bases
numbers on his mobile. The caller introduced himself to be gangster Suresh Poojari and
demanded Rs 5 crores from him. The complained was in fear and showed his inability.
The gangster kept on threatening him and told him to see the Utube were in his shooters
have killed a cable operator in Ulhasnagar and his interview. He gave life threats to the
complainant that if he fails to adhere to his demands he will meet the same fate and his
shooters will kill him. The complainant express his inabilities. The complainant also
received threat SMSs that if he doesn not pay he or his family member will be shot dead.
He complained to RCF P Stn Vide CR No. 261/15 u/s 387 IPC. The case was taken over
by the Anti Extortion Cell Mumbai.
As the matter was serious the Anti Extortion Cell officers and men immediately
took steps and analyzed the case. A watch was maintained at the complainants place and
hide outs of mentioned Gangster associates. The target number was analyzed and
studied.
After proper workout, gearing up intelligence network, technical analysis, study of
previous cases of this gang and the modus operandi the below mentioned accused
persons were arrested from Navghar, Ghatkopar, Ulhasnagar, Surat, and Pune. In the
investigations this associates of Suresh Poojari Gang were actively instrumental in
passing information of potential targets in the society, Arranging cash, Arranging
shooters, Reece of target place, and all were actively working for the organized crime
syndicate of Suresh Poojari. However in proper workout plans made by the AEC this
accused persons were arrested in the nick of time before executing the plans to commit
firing on the complainant. Gangster suresh Poojari had planned to create a rein of terror
by executing his plans and committing extortion in the City. How ever this module was
busted by AEC.
Details of the accused persons:
i) One Middle aged person, 42 yrs, R/o Ambernath,Native Chattisgarh.
He has two firing cases against him. One at Shahpur P Stn were he committed a day
light bank dacoity in 2004 and other at At wadala P stn were in he had committed a
house robbery in 2011. He was also arrested by Rabale police Stn in theft cases.
Recently in on June 2015 he along with his associates committed firing in a Bhivandi
Office for robbing huge cash from the office. Narpoli Police Stn CR NO 237/15 u/s 307,
34 IPC..
ii) One middle aged person age 39 yrs R/o Bhiwandi, Thane
Previously arrested in a Kidnapping case at kalyan. He was given the task by
Gangster Suresh Poojari to accommodate shooters and provide money. To give them
logistical support and to receive and give money for execution.
iii) One youth age 33 yrs R/o Surat
Occ: Embroidary machine mechanic:
He coordinated constantly with Suresh poojari. Received cash amounts by hawala
and transferred the amounts to shooters and associates. Provided money to shooters in
Ulhasnagar firing/ murder case committed on 11th
Sept 15.
iv) One middle aged person age 42 years Occ: Mechanic
R/o: Asalfa, Ghatkopar
He was in constant coordination with Suresh Poojari. He accommodated two shooters
at Sr No 5 & 6 and showed them the address of the victims office. Actively involved in
the plan. Received money. Gave all support to the syndicate.
v) One middle aged person age 39 yrs Occ; Nill R/s Ulhasnagar.
He was in constant communication with Gangster suresh Poojari. He coordinated with
accd no 4. He along with accd 6 went to the office of the complainant and did a recce of
the place. Made all arrangements to excecute the plans of the organized Syndicate.
vi) One middle aged person age 38 yrs R/o Kalyan.
He was in constant communication with Gangster Suresh Poojari. He along with accd
5 went to the office of the complainant and did a recce of the place. Made all
arrangements to excecute the plans of the organized Syndicate.
vii) One middle aged person age 45 yrs Occ: Estate agent: R/O Pune
He is based at Pune, works as an estate agent, He provided money to shooter as the
instance of Suresh Poojari. Which was provided ahead by accd no 3 to various active
associates of Suresh Poojari. . He was previously arrested in an extortion case by Pune
AEC. He had threatened a builder at Pune at the instance of Ravi Poojari. He is on bail in
the said case. He is actively involed in gang activities. He is from Manglore, Karnataka.
viii) One middle aged person age 39, Occ: Electrician/ Estate agent. R/o
Pimpri.
He is a close associate of accd no 7. He is in constant coordination with accd Suresh
Poojari. Provided money along with accd 7 to accd no 3 for further distribution to
associates of the syndicate.

4. Brief of the work done :- During the night of 19/09/2015 & 20/09/2015 a
jewellery shop from Mulund (E) was broke opened by cutting the grills around
a.c.machine and gold and silver ornaments worth Rs. 2 crore & 92 lakhs and cash of Rs.
4 lakh were stolen. In this connection a case was registered at Navghar Police Station
vide C.R. No. 203/15 U/sec 454,457,380,34 IPC. Parallel investigation in this case was
immediately started by Unit-VII of DCB, CID, Ghatkopar, Mumbai.
On 25/09/2015 the further investigation of this case was given to Unit-VII of
DCB, CID by the orders of the Jt. C.P. (Crime), Mumbai. A Special Investigation Team
of the officers and men from Unit-VII & Anti-Robbery/Dacoity Cell was formed under
able supervision of ACP D-1(East) Shri. Praful Bhosle.
On 26/09/2015 the special investigation team received information that the
accused are going to sell the stolen ornaments at B.P.T Road, near Ray Road Railway
Station, Mumbai. The team immediately swung into action and arranged a trap near Ray
road railway station area and 3 accused were arrested and 167 gram gold ornaments &
cash of Rs. 2,600/- was recovered from them. During their interrogation the accused
admitted having committed the said offence with their other 3 associate wanted accused.
During further investigation it was revealed that one Sajida Bhabhi who was
staying with the arrested accused had escaped with some stolen jewellary. On 28/09/2015
she was arrested from Katai Naka, Dombivali, Thane, with 26.900 gram gold jewellary.
During her further interrogation, 413.065 gram more gold ornaments were recovered at
her instance.
It was also revealed that, on 15/08/2015 the accused with pre-plan to commit this
offence hired a room near the jewellary shop and started fruit & coconut selling business
there and observed the surrounding and movements in the jewellary shop and finally
executed their plan & committed the said offence.
During further investigation it was also revealed that the complainant wrongly
mentioned in FIR of stolen of 9 Kg gold ornaments. On 28/09/2015 the complainant
properly checked his inward & outward entries and informed that actually 3806.820
gram gold ornaments were stolen from his jewellary shop, out of which 2,398.61 gram
gold ornaments are recovered from all four arrested accused.

4. Brief of the work done :- On 07/07/2015 officers of Unit-VII, DCB, CID,
Ghatkopar, Mumbai received a reliable information that a hardcore criminal and
extortionist belonging to Arun Gawali gang is coming to extort money from a
construction contractor at Kanjurmarg (East), Mumbai. He has created terror amongst
businessmen in Kanjurmarg area and used to threat the businessmen for extorting money
from them. On receipt of this information officers and men from Unit-VII, DCB, CID
swung into action with proper plan and arranged a trap in Kanjurmarg area, under
guidance of Superiors. In a well planned operation b/m accused was arrested from
Kanjurmarg (East). His personal search revealed in recovery of one foreign made
Revolver and five live cartridges.
Details of arrested person:-
Keshav Majappa Uchil (57), R/at:- Kanjurgaon, Kanjurmarg(E), Mumbai.
The a/m accused was brought to the Unit-VII office and was tactfully interrogated,
when it was revealed that he was extorting huge sum from the businessmen from
Kanjurmarg area and is wanted in an extortion case registered at Kanjurmarg Police
Station in the year 2012. He had committed about 16 serious cases like Murder, Attempt
to commit murder, robbery and extortion and is absconding since 1993.

4. Brief of the work done :- The complainant Shri. Ramakant Dilip Kadam, aged
28 years, dispatches the electronic goods of electronic retail chain Croma from its
Bhiwandi godown to its showrooms in Mumbai. On 26.08.2015 at 23.00 hours the
complainant had dispatched container truck bearing No.MH04-EY-9969 loaded with
electronic goods such as refrigerators, LED TVs and ACs valued at about Rs.27,75,542/-
from DHL Warehouse, Padgha, Bhiwandi to Croma Showroom at Mega Mall, Andheri
but instead of delivering the goods at the destination, the driver of the truck fled away
with the container containing the goods. In this regard a crime came to be registered with
Mulund Police Station vide C.R. No.389/2015 u/s. 408 I.P.C.
While conducting parallel investigation in the said case, the Anti Robbery-Dacoity
Squad received reliable information on 02.09.2015 that some persons are looking for
customers to purchase electronic goods at prices lower than market rates. Acting on the
said information three persons were nabbed and taken into custody. On their
interrogation it was revealed that they hatched conspiracy with driver of the truck
containing Croma company’s electronic goods and committed the said crime on
27.08.2015. The said case was taken over for investigation by the Crime Branch vide
D.C.B. C.I.D. C.R. No.86/2015 u/s. 408, 120(B), 411 of I.P.C. Three accused came to be
arrested in the said crime and electronic goods worth Rs.24,39,923/- have been recovered
from them. Further investigations in the said case are being carried out.

4. Brief of the work done :- On 10.09.2015 at about 22.00 hours Arjun alias
Munna Jaiswal alongwith his friend was walking towards Kokri Agar, Transit Camp,
Pratiksha Nagar. Suddenly one criminal by name Sunny who is known to Arjun fired
four shots from his pistol at the latter and ran away. Arjun alias Munna who was shot in
his chest and back, was seriously injured. He died while being treated at Sion Hospital.
In this connection a crime vide C.R. No.453/15 u/s. 302 I.P.C. r/w. 3, 25, 27, Arms Act
was registered with Wadala T.T. Police Station and now the Anti Robbery-Dacoity
Squad is conducting further investigations in this case.
After a long time murder with the use of fire-arms had taken place in Mumbai
city. Therefore as per the directions of superiors all the units of Crime Branch were
looking for the shooter. The Anti Robbery-Dacoity Squad was also after the said shooter
named Sunny and were collecting information about his whereabouts from all persons
related to him. During this period this squad received credible information from its
informant that Sunny was going to visit Dombivali to meet his friend. Working on this
information the squad laid trap at Dombivali and nabbed Sunny. Upon his admission that
he had gunned down Munna he was arrested in this case. The pistol used in the crime and
2 cartridges have been recovered at his instance. Sunny hails from Nepal and is a
hardened criminal. He was previously arrested by Santacruz Police Station for
committing robbery. It was unraveled from the investigation that the present murder was
committed by him in collusion with another notorious goon from Pratiksha Nagar (who
was on inimical terms with the deceased).

4. Brief of the work done :- Since last one year cases of house breaking at night
were on rise in posh locality of Sion, Matunga and Parsiwada. Burglars after making
recce of the locked houses, flats burgled cash, gold & silver ornaments to the tune of
lakhs of rupees .
The Commissioner of Police has given directions to the Mumbai Crime Banch to
prevent the house breaking at night and to apprehend the gangs operating in the area.
Accordingly various teams were formed as per the directions of Jt.C.P. Crime sir.
Continuous efforts from DCB CID, Unit-5 got discreet information and
accordingly a habitual criminal on the records of police was apprehended and arrested on
23/08/15.
Sustained interrogation made with the arrested accused primarily revealed his
involvement in burglaries in Agrawal Nagar, Jame Jamshed Road, Five Gardens and
Matunga area. He confessed to have committed various burglaries alongwith his
associates in the Sion, Matunga and Ghatkopar area.
At the instance of the said accused and his other two arrested accomplices gold,
silver ornaments and other articles valued nearly about Rs.27,16,000/- were recovered.
Efforts are being made to arrest the other wanted accused involved in said crimes.
During the course of the investigation of said cases it was revealed that one lady
from Pantnagar area is a leader of the said house-breaking gangs and is currently heading
3-4 gangs of burglars and robbers. She is providing logistics support to the gangs such as
providing cars for conveyance, tools for house-breaking. It was also revealed that the
said lady was instrumental in disposing off the property obtained in house breakings

city crime branch was doing the parallel investigation of Gaodevi police Station C.R.No.
111/2015 u/s 381 IPC. A 25-year-old man has confessed to the police that he had stolen
jewellery worth Rs 28.10 lakh and around Rs 4 lakh from a businessman who had hired
him as a servant through an advertisement.
The accused is Ajay Mandal alias Chanchal, originally from Bihar. Mandal was
arrested by the Crime Branch’s property cell at 7.45 pm on October 10. In April, the
businessman Nilesh Gupta (46), a resident of Pedder Road, had published advertisements
in Marathi and Hindi newspapers for a servant.Servant spikes food, robs actress

Mandal then approached Gupta, offering his services. Mandal started working for
Gupta from April 23. On May 19, Gupta, along with his wife and son, left for Udaipur,
leaving his parents and Mandal at home. On the same day at 8 am, Gupta’s parents went
for a walk at Hanging Garden and returned at 11 am. When they came back, they did not
find Chanchal at home and informed their son. On May 21, Gupta returned home from
Udaipur in the evening, along with his wife and son. The next day, when Gupta’s wife
went to pick up her bracelet from a cupboard, she saw that the lock had been broken.
Wife of gupta immediately called her husband and informed him. While checking
the cupboard, Gupta found that two out of three lockers had been broken open, and
jewellery and money were missing from the cupboard.
Gupta filed a complaint at Gamdevi police station on May 23 and informed the
cops that his servant had left home on May 19 and had stolen R4 lakh in cash and
jewellery worth R28.10 lakh. A case of theft was registered against Mandal. Accused
person have handed over the custody to Gaodevi police for further probe.

Economy by some people who are involved in the distribution the Fake Indian
Currency notes into the Indian Market. The department has continuously trying to get
the information about the racket and nab them so as to stable the Indian Economy.
Under the supervision of superior the officers and men of Crime Branch,Unit-8,
laid trap and arrested the accused at Govt. Colony, Govt. Colony Marg, Bandra
(E),Mumbai with 400 Fake Indian Currency Notes of Rs.500/- each (Total face Valued
Rs. 2,00,000/-). The accused is a residence of West Bengal. A case a Case vide
C.R.No. 15/2014, U/sec. 489(B)(c),34 IPC and (Kherwadi P.Stn. C.R.No. 47/2014) has
been registered against him . After collecting the sufficient evidence against him a charge
sheet was submitted to the M.M. 37 the Court , Esplanade, Mumbai vide C.C.No.
321/PW/2014 against accused and later the case was committed to the Sessions Court,
Room No.7, Mumbai vide S.C. No. 371/2014.
Under the direct supervision of the Shri, K.M.M. Prasana, Addl.Commr. of Police,
(crime), Dr. Mohankumar Dahikar, Dy.Commr. of Police (Det.-I), Shri, Sunil Babar,
A.C.P.(D-1) Sr.P.I.- P.S.Wavhal has been conducted as Pairavee Officer for the case in
the Court of Law.
The evidences, Panchas, Witnesses and exhibits were produced in the Court timely
for prosecution against accused by I.O. P.I.- Jyotsna Rasam, H.C.26594/Salvi, H.C.
25479/Keluskar . The result of which the Session Court No.7,Mumbai convicted the
accused on 7/9/15 for 3 years rigorous imprisonment punishment and fined Rs. 1000/-
and if he will fail to pay the fine 1 month simple imprisonment extended. The conviction
has given to the accused for section of 489(b)(c) of IPC for distributing the fake currency
notes in the Indian Market.

Station vide C.R.No.318/15,U/sec.397,328,341,452,34-IPC on the compltt. of a Jeweler
on 18/10/15 in which 4 unknown persons entered into his jewelry shop and robbed
Jewelery worth Rs. 15,00,000/- on the knife point. The crime has been occurred in the
crowded area.
Under the guidance of the Shri, K.M.M. Prasana, Addl.Commr. of Police, (crime),
Dr. Mohankumar Dahikar, Dy.Commr. of Police (Det.-I), Shri, Sunil Babar, A.C.P.(D-1)
Sr.P.I.- P.S.Wavhal had formed a team of officers and men to detect the case and nab the
accused.
During the parallel investigation of API- Chougule got the reliable information on
23/10/15 a trap had been laid at Borivali Railway Station and arrested the 2 accused .
They were trying to fled away with stolen booty . All the stolen booty has been
recovered from them with worth Rs. 15,00,000/-.
A case has been taken for further investigation with this Unit-8 vide
DCB,CID,C.R.No.100/15.

C.R.No. 220/15 u/s 302,307, 452, 324,143,145,147,149 of IPC with certain sections of MCOCA act, in
which a man was being fired and brutally killed by six accused using deadly weapons . A case is also
known as Sharda Restarunt and bar firing and murder case. After the incident the main accused of the
case were absconded till date.
The Police came to know that , one of the wanted accused of the above described case had
threatened one hotel businessman at gun point and extorted money from him. Considering the
seriousness of an offence Jt.Commissioner of Police (Crime) Mr. Atulchandra Kulkarni and
Addl.Commissioner of Police (Crime) Mr. K.M.M.Prasanna had formed a special team of unit –VIII
under the direct supervision of D.C.P. Mr. Dahikar to nab the accused.
On 18/09/2015, a trap has been constructed with the source information of PSI Joshi under the
instruction of unit incharge Mr. Wavhal with his team members P.I. Mane, A.P.I. Chougule and A.P.I.
Gavshete with other staff and arrested wanted accused red hand with arms and ammunition. A case was
registered at B.K.C. vide LAC No. 59/15 u/s 3,25 arms Act r/w 37(a) M.P.Act.
In the interrogation of the arrested accused , it revealed that the acused is wanted in Nirmalnagar
MCOCA case no. 02/2014 and Khar P.S. C.R.No. 71/15 u/s 387,504,34 of IPC . he has criminal
backgounds with many more assault cases.

834/15 u/s 307, 304,385,436,506,427 of IPC .
After the incident the team got idea of the accused came to Mumbai. Considering the nature and
seriousness of an offence Jt.Commissioner of Police (Crime) Mr. Atulchandra Kulkarni and
Addl.Commissioner of Police (Crime) Mr. K.M.M.Prasanna had formed a special team of unit –VIII
under the direct supervision of D.C.P. Mr. Dahikar to nab the accused.

to catch the accused and formed a team including API Chougule, PSI Patil and staff. On 01/11/2015 , a
trap has been constructed at Versova , Mumbai an nabbed the accused. Who is then hand overed to

three accused from the sion circle, sion, Mumbai with stolen property. In the interrogation of the
accused , it revealed that the acused has criminal records all over the Mumbai and convicted in the
previous cases.
