Sallu Kargbo ('16) had wisely removed his dress shirt after escorting a Homecoming Queen candidate at the halftime presentation, avoiding covering it in flour when the game resumed. Over the summer, a team from JROTC got to climb the walls at Camp Dodge, a military base. "It was an awesome experience," said Gaines. (Contributed) 5.) Loud and Proud Marching in the National Independence Day Parade, Claire Trimble ('16) and Ajay Williams ('18) play saxophone. The Marching Blue Devils had an unforgettable experience marching in the parade. "It was unbelievably cool to not only visit Washington, D.C. but to march in front of the White House on the 4th of July," Trimble said. (Contributed) 6.) Kicking It Up Performing a pom routine, Justine Doyle ('16), Allison Wallace ('19) and Zoe Tanner ('18) smile for the crowd. The Blue Illusion Dance Team performed at St. Ambrose as a dress rehearsal for the State competition. "Dress rehearsal is a great practice performance before state," said Wallace. (Contributed) 4.) All Together At Brady Street Stadium, Xavier Marshall ('17) gets a handoff and runs up the field. The boys experienced a tough loss to Bettendorf. However, Marshall said, "The team this year was a lot closer than years past." (D. Although losinghundreds of parking spots and the ability todrive down one of the city's main streetswere a huge burden, Central was on the riseto being better than ever before.

But it was not just the school building thatwas rising.

There were newcomers to the school whowere on the rise, just beginning high schoolin hopes of graduating at the top of theirclass and making a name for themselves.Athletes were on the rise, attempting to runthe 400m at the state track meet and breaktheir previous records. Students were on therise, studying for hours to ace their ACTs orthat Biology final.
