The method includes the use of controlled heat (between 90°C and 140°C for 5 seconds to 30 minutes) on an acidified ice confection mix (pH between 5.6 and 6.5) to at least partially form a coagulated protein system including casein whey protein. Such a protein system is used according to the invention in frozen confection prepared by conventional freezing alone or combined with low temperature freezing wherein it improves the microstructure and stability on frozen products. [57] Abstract:

Monoclonal antibody and other Fc-containing molecules can be constructed using the disclosed variations in the Fc region causing increased resistance to host and pathogen-derived proteases and exhibiting the ability to interact with Fey receptors and initiate complement directed cytotoxicity as demonstrated by functional assays. The Fc-containing molecules are useful in the treatment of various diseases and disorders wherein FcR-driven host functions contribute activity.

[57] Abstract:

A fully human antibody or antigen-binding fragment of a human antibody that specifically binds and inhibits or interferes with at least one activity of human angiopoietin-like protein 3 (hANGPTL3) is provided. The human anti-hANGPTL3 antibodies are useful in treating diseases or disorders associated with ANGPTL3, such as hyperlipidemia, hyperlipoproteinemia and dyslipidemia, including hypertriglyceridemia, hypercholesterolemia, chylomicronemia, and so forth. Furthermore, the anti-hANGPTL3 antibodies can be administered to a subject in need thereof to prevent or treat diseases or disorders, for which abnormal lipid metabolism is a risk factor. Such diseases or disorders include cardiovascular diseases, such as atherosclerosis and coronary artery diseases; acute pancreatitis; nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH); diabetes; obesity; and the like.

The present invention relates to a combination comprising AZD5363, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and at least one androgen receptor signalling modulator selected from MDV-3100 (also known as enzalutamide), AZD3514, abiraterone (or an ester prodrug thereof: e.g. abiraterone acetate), and bicalutamide; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. Each of these combinations may be useful in the treatment of cancer. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising such combinations, and further relates to methods of treatment comprising the simultaneous, sequential or separate administration of AZD5363, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, with at least one androgen receptor signalling modulator as described above, to warm-blooded animal, such as a human for the treatment of cancer. The invention also relates to a kit comprising such combinations.

[57] Abstract:

A bone fusion device provides stability to bones during a bone fusion period. The bones include, for example, the vertebrae of a spinal column. The bone fusion device comprises one or more extendable tabs attached to the bone fusion device by associated rotating means. The bone fusion device is preferably inserted by using an arthroscopic surgical procedure. During arthroscopic insertion of the device, the tabs are pre-configured for compactness. In this compact configuration, the tabs are preferably deposed along and/or within an exterior surface of the bone fusion device. After the bone fusion device has been positioned between the bones, one or more tab(s) are extended. In the preferred embodiment, the position of each tab is related to a positioning element and extending blocks. Typically, the tabs advantageously position and brace the bone fusion device in the confined space between the bones until the bones have fused.

[57] Abstract:

Detected events such as impacts, accidents, breakdowns, and types of driving behaviors based on feedback from tilt, gravity, accelerometers and/or shock sensors within a portable electrical power storage device such as a battery and/or within a vehicle (e.g., an electric scooter) are communicated to the user's mobile device, dashboard display and/or backend systems over wired and/or wireless communication channels. The communication of the events and types of events are logged and automatically aggregated from multiple vehicles for further analysis to determine various potential system-wide safety issues and to track event history on an individual per-user or individual per-scooter basis or individual per-battery basis. Such event data may also be transferred accordingly via the battery exchange process at the online exchange machine through a memory device attached to the battery that stores the event data.
