Key Impacts of the Games

• Construction activity now underway: completion of the Stadium, installation of the track, early works for the Games and the creation of new north campus pathways.

•Road Closures:• Ian Macdonald Blvd. (NW Gate to Founders Rd) June 15 to end of August • Shoreham Drive eastbound lane July 11-16, August 8-16• Ottawa Road (south of Boyer woodlot)* July 1 to end of August • Thompson Road* July 15 to August 14

* Vehicle access may be allowed with pre-approval

• Some academic buildings may have limited entry and exit points during Games times.

• Some parking lots currently used by permit holders will not be available for use during the “Games” Period.

Transportation & Parking• The Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area will have:

• more than 10,000 athletes and officials; 250,000 visitors ; 4,000 media

• Over 30 competition venues located in a 5,300-square km footprint.

• There is an integrated Games transportation plan so that people can travel safely, reliably and efficiently throughout the region.

• Spectator tickets include a free round trip transit ticket.

• The Ministry of Transportation is developing an interactive trip planner for the GTA . It will provide information on roads to avoid, HOV lanes, road closures, etc.).

• In order to reduce congestion, everyone is encouraged to consider public transit or carpooling

• Transit routes along the north part of Ian Macdonald Blvd. will be rerouted (*TTC 106 – will divert Sentinel to Pond Road – to Ian Macdonald into the Common)

• Some parking lots currently used by permit holders will not be available for use during the “Games” Period, including:

• Thompson Lot June 15 to end of August 27

• Tait Lot May 15 to September 15

• WOB Lot June 26 to end of August 27

• Founders Lot West August 7

• Lumbers West Lot June 26 to August 27

• Lumbers North Lot July 10 to August 27
