1. What is Memshare?

Ship building is a wide process structured on certain steps, involving a lot of materials and human resources.

Memshare is the software that can help you build ships better and faster. We will achieve this by accelerating and

improving communication, as well as the information flow.

Every task can be structured and shared among employees, allowing to organize both the work process

and workers, leading to the entire project's success.

3. Shipbuilding General Aspects

3.1 QC Flow - Check Component

There are many flowcharts showing the processes QC controls. This is one of them showing the steps followed by QC department in the circuit of checking activities in the shipyard.

4. QR Codes

A QR code is a 2D code, bidimensional, similar with barcodes. They can store theoretical dimensions and are used to check if the ship component was executed

properly.

In production, all of the sketches will have codes printed. They can save a lot of time because, printed on the schematics papers, the codes will send information directly

from Naval Architect to the Quality Control team/ Foreman.

QR codes provide quick transfer of the data into the system.

4.1 Steps for Using QR Codes

1. By entering specific data in the table, the architect generates a QR code, which will be printed afterwards on the sketch.

2. The foreman scans it and the theoretical dimensions are displayed.

3. The foreman fills in the fields for real values.

4. If there are differences, the system will generate an issue tree. When everything is fine, then the components will be moved to an “OK” tree.

Afterwards, QC adds a tag describing the importance of the issue and forwards the situation to the foreman for further changes. This type of

notifications improves QC 's route of checking procedures.

Case study 1 – Welding BeltWelding two components can lead to an issue regarding the dimensions of the belt. Firstly, the architect completes the table, generating the QR code on the sketch.

After completing the real values, if the belt is supra-dimensional, the differences will generate the issue tree and QC places the tag. Afterwards, the foreman is notified to

change the problem.

Case study 2 – Board Panel

When welding 3 boards the layers may move, resulting a form different than rectangle. Therefore, the diagonals have to be measured to make sure it is right.

QC will be notified and, if the task is not properly done, it is sent to foreman for review. The values will be corrected.

When everything is replaced, the issue is moved in the “OK” tree.

there will be no need to write all the steps again.

6.2 Document Template

A Document Template is a pre-set document with a standard format, previously written and inserted in the software. Every time the same document is needed, it just has to be generated and you only complete certain fields.

First step is writing the document as you want. The fields that have to be completed will have a coded format.

After the document form is set, generate it with: right click ->”Generate document” → select document's title (the file will appear and it can be

Non- conformance Sheet Generating

If you are in a hurry and you have to write too many documents, the solution is called “Generating documents”. Here are the steps for completing and generating a non-conformance sheet.

1. Select the form you need for the document.

2.Complete the rows according to your information.

3. Generate the document from the node it was entered in.

4. You now have your form completed with the information needed!

6.3 How to Add Tags

Tags are labels/ short words, used as importance classifiers for different problems that may appear. This is how a tag is added:

Searching by TagsSearching by tag will show all the tasks included in a certain category. This

option helps building a database that can be accessed anytime by every employee, reducing the time allocated to their work instruction.

Search after “Blocking” tag shows all tasks that need

remedy.

Searching after “Training” tag will display the node with instructions, that is important

in teaching employees the rules and the preventive measures for future activities.

6.4 NotificationsNew things added are instantly marked and you will know about them thanks to the blue pop-up box. You can see this notification while you work in other programs, so

you won't miss anything.
