Choosing a SavFil

Choose which modeyou would like to playby touching it. Touchthe icon to accessthe How to Playvideos, or the icon to battleusing KID ICARUS: UPRISINGAR Cards (p. 11).

Start up the game. When the titlescreen appears, touch the lowerscreen.

When playing for thefirst time, choose anyempty save file andconfirm your name,birthday and Mii™. Ifyou have already created a file,simply select it from the menu.

Your progress in the game will beautomatically saved to your savefile. While saving is in progress, the

icon will be displayed at the top-left of the upper screen.

This is where you can redeem heartsfor new weapons, or fuse multipleweapons together to create newweapons (the weapons used in thisprocess will be lost). You can alsodismantle unwanted weapons,converting them into hearts.

Here you can choosewhich weapon to usein the chapter andequip powers thatgrant special effectsduring gameplay. After equippingnew gear, it can be helpful to test itout in the Practice Range.

Arms Altar

Place an egg intothe tray, then slide thetray downwards andrelease. This will sendthe egg flying into thesky, where it will turn into an Idol. Itis also possible to use multiple eggsat once.Eggs can be obtained byprogressing through the game, or byspending Play Coins accumulated onyour Nintendo 3DS system.

7 Failing a Chapter

● If you pick up a Drink of the Godsitem during Crisis mode, thehealth gauge will be immediatelyrefilled.

● Pit will recover from Crisis modeautomatically after a short periodof time.

If the health gauge isdepleted completely,Pit will enter Crisismode, in which thehealth gauge does notappear. If Pit takes too muchdamage while in Crisis mode, thechapter will be failed. You will begiven the option to retry the chapterfrom a specific point (Continue),return to the Move Out! menu orchange gear (this last option will notbe available in certain chapters).As failing the chapter causes theIntensity to lower, the loot you havegathered will become slightly lessvaluable.

10 Rules

In multiplayer, there are twopossible game types to choose from.

Light Versus Dar

A team battle inwhich players fightthree-on-three. Ifthere are fewerthan 6 playerspresent, the rest of the positions willbe filled by CPU players (characterscontrolled by the computer).

Free-For-Al

A battle where all other players areconsidered enemies. Defeat as manyopponents as possible within thetime limit. The player with thehighest score at the end is thewinner.

❶ When a player on your team isdefeated, your shared Team Lifegauge will be depleted. (Theamount depleted is proportionalto the value of the weapon usedby the defeated player.)

❷ When a player's defeat causesthe Team Life gauge to beemptied completely, that playerwill transform into a powerfulangel.

❸ The first team to defeat theenemy angel wins the game.

11 AR Card Battle

Select the icon from the mainmenu, or the icon from the Vault,to battle using KID ICARUS:UPRISING AR Cards.

Note: You can take pictures of yourIdols with or . These pictureswill be saved to the SD Card, wherethey can be viewed from theNintendo 3DS Camera application onthe HOME Menu.

❶ Point the outercameras at anAR Card, and anIdol will appear.Up to three Idolscan be displayed at once.

❷ To make the Idols battle, placetwo AR Cards so that their loweredges directly face one another,then press or touch FIGHT!Only two cards may participate inany one battle.

● Place the AR Cards on a flat,well-lit surface. Adjust thedistance and angle, keeping theAR Cards within the sights of theouter cameras, until they arerecognised correctly.

● Ensure that the whole AR Card isvisible on the upper screen. Ifpart of it is not visible, it may notbe recognised.

● Use AR Cards in areas where theywill not be illuminated directly bysunlight or light from othersources, as this can interfere withthe outer cameras' ability torecognise them properly.

● If an outer camera is dirty, wipe itwith a soft cloth before youbegin.

● If the AR Cards are bent orfolded, they cannot berecognised by the system. Ensurethat any AR Cards in use are flaton the surface.

12 StreetPass

● This feature requires that youactivate StreetPass for thissoftware on your Nintendo 3DSsystem. When the confirmationscreen appears, please accept.

● To communicate using thisfeature, all players must activateStreetPass for this software.

Trade WeapoGem

Activate StreetPass™to trade weapon gemswith other players whoare using this feature.To begin, selectStreetPass from the menu andcreate a weapon gem.

❶ You can create weapon gemsfrom weapons (the weapons usedwill not be lost).

❷ The gems you have created willbe traded with other players'gems, which will be gathered inyour gem bag .

❸ Select FUSE GEMS to combinethe gems you have received andcreate new weapons, or select agem in the Gem Case and press to turn it into a weapon withoutfusing. Both options cost a smallnumber of hearts, and the gemsused will be lost. Unwanted gemscan also be converted into hearts.

13 SpotPass

This software supports automaticdownload of new weapon gems andnotifications via an internetconnection using SpotPass™.SpotPass is active only when thesystem is in Sleep Mode and withinrange of a compatible internetaccess point.

Activating SpotPa

❶ From the Optionsmenu (p. 14),select OTHER, andchoose ON for theSpotPass option.

To use SpotPass, you must first: - Accept the Nintendo 3DS ServiceUser Agreement and Privacy Policy - Set up an internet connection- Insert an SD Card into theNintendo 3DS system.For information on these, refer tothe Operations Manual.

❷ When the confirmation screenappears, touch YES.

❸ Received notifications can beviewed by touching thenotification icon on the HOMEMenu. Received weapon gems willappear in the Gem Case (p. 12).
