2. Right click on the Background layer, left click on duplicate.

5. Click on the Magic Wand Tool. Set the Tolerance level to 20. Make sure that Anti-alias is turned off and that there is a check mark in Contiguous box. If Contiguous was not check marked for this design, it would also pick up the word “CANADA” in the logo since it is white as well. We don’t want that in this case. In some designs you make want this unchecked. Then click on the white border around the design. It should look like this:

6. Now use your Zoom tool and zoom in on the border of the design. See the black edge of the design and where it transitions back to while where the dashed lines are at? We are going to clean that up next.

7. Click on Select – Modify – Expand.

8. Now we are going to expand the selection by either 1 or 2 pixels depending on the resolution of the design. If 1 is not enough, then click Edit – Undo, then try again.

13. We need one more piece of information before we go to print. Click on Image – Image Size.

14. Look at the resolution of the design and remember this for later. Click on OK when done.

15. Now we are going to proof the design before we actually print it. Click on File – Print.

16. Select “Brother GT-782 FileOutput from the Printer: section.

17. Click on Page Setup – Advanced. We need to set the Choke Width for this design to make sure the white mask stays underneath the color part of the design. This is a very easy formula. Take 600 divided by the resolution of the design and that is what you set the choke for. Back in step 14 we checked the resolution of the design. Remember? So in this case we take 600 divided by 72 and that equals 8.3. 8 will be close enough. So slide the choke over to 8 and click on OK. OK again and then Print.

18. Another window will appear reconfirming the printer. Click on Print.

19. Here is what mine looked liked after it appeared in the Brother GT FileOuput Preview window. I still have some editing to do to get “CANADA” to print in white. So I am going to click Close to I can go back to Photoshop.

20. Using the Magic Wand Tool again. I clicked on the middle portion of the letter “C”. To add to my selection and get the other letters you hold down the Shift key on the keyboard while left clicking on the inside remaining letters until it looks like this:

21. Double click on the Foreground color as indicated with the red arrow. Change your RGB values to 254 as shown. This will be white.

24. Repeat steps 15-18 again to print preview the file. As you can see now the design is actually the way it’s supposed to be.

25. To send to the GT-782 for printing. Repeat steps 15-18 again but this time pick “GT-782” and NOT “GT-782 FileOutput”.
