    Syndrome day on 21.3.18 by organizing a CME prrogramme.

    Dr. Shubha Phadke – Professor and Head, Department of

    Medical Genetics - SGPGI (Lucknow) has been invited as a

    Guest speaker for the CME. Dr Piyush Singh, HOD Department

    of Psychiatry, Dr Sumit Sharma - Assistant Professor,

    Department of ENT, and Dr Akash Kumar - Intern (MIMS) are

    the other speakers in the CME. The CME was followed by aq

    QUIZ competition based on Down Syndrome, in which

    students of 2016-17 batch participated. Saurabh Patel stood

    first, Nikita Mittal stood second and Adeeba Fatima stood

    third in the competition.

    11. 11th Workshop of 12 hours duration on CardiacResuscitation was organized in SGPGI, Lucknow 0n 12thMay 2018 in which 42 delegates including Interns, andStudents participated. The various causes of cardiac arrest,hands on training in the use of Defibrillator, and

  • cardiopulmonary resuscitation were given to the studentsbesides other training. The workshop was accredited with 4credit hours by the U.P. Medical Council.

    12. Cricket team of the Institute was sent to a Day nighttournament at KGMU – Lucknow. Twelve students of thecollege team participated in the eventVivekanand gupta(c) Vivek chaurasia (vc) Shubham parmarVishal Jaiswal Birjesh Yadav Akshay ranaSunny nigam (wk)Shilendra Yadav Dhirendra pandey Shashank Jaiswal ParijaatMishra Sachin Tiwari. They played very well and reachedsemifinals of the tournament.

    13. Academic Forum of the Institute celebrated the WORLD NOTOBACCO DAY on 31st of MAY 2018 by organizing a lectureby Dr VIVEK GARG (MCh), Senior Cancer Specialist, LucknowCancer Institute, Jiamau, Lucknow from 12:0 to 1:0 PM. DrAakhya Pandey of 2013-14 batch also gave a talk on

    14. 12th Workshop of12 hours duration on Cardiac Resuscitation was organized inSGPGI, Lucknow 0n 23rd June 2018 in which 10 delegatesincluding Interns and Students participated. This iscomprehensive advance cardiac Resuscitation Course based onlatest Resuscitation guidelines for Indian scenario.. The variouscauses of cardiac arrest, hands on training in the use ofDefibrillator, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation were given tothe students besides other training. The workshop wasaccredited with 4 credit hours by the U.P. Medical Council.

    15. 4th International Yoga Day was celebrated in the Institute on21st June 2018 in which Faculty member, Interns, Students,Nursing faculty and students, Paramedical staff and entireMIMS fraternity was cordially invited to participate in theprogramme which was conducted by Dr S.L.Verma – HOD,

  • Department of Physiology and Dr M.L.Verma – AssociateProfessor – Department of Medicine and was coordinated byDr Sumit Sharma, Academic Forum.

    16. Academic Forum organized a seminar on Advanced TraumaLife Support course conducted at SGPGI. The guest speakerfor the same was course director Dr. Sandeep Sahu,Additional Professor, Department of Anesthesiology, SGPGI –Lucknow on 25.6.2018 from 12- 1:0 P.M. in the LectureTheatre complex. The programme was attended by Facultymembers, Interns and students of the Institute.

    17. The Doctors Day was celebrated in the college by organizinga debate competition amongst 2016-17 and 2017-18 batch on30 June 2018 ( as 1st July was a Sunday) Topic of the debatewas – Who has contributed more to Medical Profession –Physicians or Surgeons. The debate was fierce but waseventually won by 2016-17 batch. N the individual category

    18. 4th Workshop of 12 hours duration on ATLS - traumamanagement was organized in Department of Anesthesiology,SGPGI, lucknow on 14th July 2018 in which 21 delegatesincluding JR’s, Interns, Students participated from ourinstitute. The workshop was accredited with 4 credit hours bythe U.P. Medical Council. The delegates were taught aboutprevention of trauma, golden hour of trauma management,airway and breathing management in trauma, shock andcirculation management, and organ specific traumamanagement like chest Injuries / abdominal injuries, Orthotrauma, Neuro trauma management. Hands on training weregiven for airway and breathing management, ICD andpericardiocentesis, management of shock and circulation, and

  • FAST / E-FAST. The delegates also gave a post workshop testand were given certificates after the workshop.

    19. A medical education technologies workshop was organizedin the Institute from from 18th - 21st July 2018 under MCIRegional centre for Medical Education Technologies– KingGeorge Medical University, Lucknow. The Institute was aSatellite Centre for these workshops

  • The programme started on time on 18th July 2018 by welcoming the

    Observer followed by lectures by various faculty members, the schedule

    was strictly followed on all four days and lectures were appreciated by

    the observer as well as the participants, the later actively participated in

    all the tasks and interactive teachings during the four day workshop.

    The participants and resource faculty were provided with timely tea in

    the morning as well as in the evening and lunch in the afternoon which

    was appreciated by all.

    The programme ended with a Valedictory function in which the

    Observer gave away the certificates to the Participants as well as the

    recourse faculty and a small vote of thanks to all by the Coordinator Dr

    Alka Singh and the Dean Dr Raj Mehrotra.

  • 24. Academic Forum Organized the 72nd Independence Dayfunction in the Institute on 15th August 2018. The programmestarted with Flag hoisting and National anthem followed by aspeech by Dr Romil Lotta of 2013-14 batch and a skitperformance by Batch 2016-17 besides Dance performance,Song recitation and MEME performance by the Nursing andparamedical unit of the Institute.

The event had Outdoor games (likeCricket, Volley ball, basketball, Badminton, Kabaddi andAthletics), Indoor games (like Carom, Table tennis, Chess,Ludo, Minimilitia), fine art events (like Pencil sketching,Rangoli, Poster making, Gift wrapping, Pot decoration, Soapcarving, Tattoo making, face painting, Mehandi and best outof waste) and Literary events (like Extempo speaking, Hindiand English Debate, Medical Quiz, GK quiz). On the last day ofthe event i.e. on 23rd there was a cultural programme nightwhich had performances from all the batches of the college (Singing – solo / group / band, Dances – solo / duet / group,Short plays, Ramp walk, and with performances from ourguest performer TAMASHA BAND. The event was attendedby more than 1000 guests including members of the faculty,students of the Institute as well as guests from other colleges.

    29. 26 January 2019. - The 70th Republic day was celebratedwith grandeur at the Institute. The programme started withFlag hoisting by the Dean of the Institute along with senior

  • professors and University toppers of all the batches; and theNational anthem, it was followed by welcome speech from theDean of the Institute Dr K.M.Shukla, who welcomed agathering of about 1000 faculty members and MBBS as wellas Nursing students. It was followed by a patriotic songrecitation by 2016-17 batch, other star attractions of theprogramme were one patriotic song and two danceperformance from the nursing students, a song recitation /dance performancve by paramedical students, and a danceperformance by student of 2016-17 batch. The Secretary ofsynapse also addressed the gathering.

    In the final round about 30 students of other Medical and Degreecolleges of Barabanki participated in which Dr. Romil Lotta gotthe first prize – cash prize of Rs 21000/- and Dr. Pushkar Raj gotthird prize of Rs7100/- . Rushali Sharma was appreciated for herlecture on the topic.
