Mylo Xyolto is by British rock band Coldplay.

Coldplay targets a wide variety of people but the majority are between the ages of 14-48 as they have created a theme which occurs throughout their music like the style of the music which interacts with the audience.

Their target audience has expanded over the years conveying how they have addressed their market and tried to make it wider which they have been successful in doing so.

They use instruments that will draw the audience in such as the fast-paced music and effective music videos.

The consistency allows their music to flow more and attract a huge audience to make them understand and connect with the music as well as the band members..

Promotional Material

The release date 24 October 2011 on CD. They had also released a special edition of the CD that included the CD, digital copy, a few copies of the bands studio notes, a poster, and stickers. The single ‘Paradise’ was available to purchase on be iTunes before any other of the songs from the CD which urged and made the audience more eager and anticipated to buy the album. The unique artwork of the CD highlights the way this band is different from others and carries a different message such as a jigsaw connoting how life could be a jigsaw puzzle and not everything works out right the way we want but life in the end does fit together.

PromotionThe final cover of the artwork for the CD allowed purchasers to access the website and take part in competitions, special offers and other features. The website included features that were exclusive to buyers of the album and not others.

The website also allows the public to buy items from the original Coldplay website and it also has a blog and up to date information about concerts, albums and the band members.

The album sold over 122,000 copies

in its first three days of sale

I think the best way for the band to

promote their music would be to

market it on social networking sites, attracting a huge market base

which would benefit artists as well

as bands.

It would lead to more awareness

and future success. People will share the music faster and inform

other as the changes in

technology mean that the media is

used more than ever.
