Importance of Conducting the Census

This momentous endeavour generates diverse: Demographic and socio-economic information

that enhance policy decision-making. It also gives insight into performance in

relation to the implementation of government policies and programmes

Census 2011 Mandate

To plan and manage the design, collection, processing and dissemination of an accurate census 2011 within the stakeholders definition with the aim of: Enumerating all persons within the country without

omissions or duplicationProvide universal and relevant data that meets the

country’s and international needs

To ensure proper coordinated and integrated planning

To conduct a comprehensive advocacy and publicity exercise in support of all census processes

To conduct a compressive testing of all processes

To produce comprehensive and relevant data items, questionnaire and census products

To conduct verification and validation of all demarcated

EAs and also perform listing of all dwellings in the country
