STAGES OF THE LESSON:
Warm-up: The teacher greets the students, introduces the guest and asks if anybody is
absent. (2 minutes)
Activity 1
Aim: - Homework check-up
Interaction: T-Ss, Ss-Ss
Time: 5 minutes
Materials: students' notebooks
Procedure: The teacher checks the homework randomly, grading the students that gave the best
answers.
Activity 2
Aim: to set the scene
Interaction: T-Ss
Time: 3
Procedure: The teacher announces the title of the new lesson, writes it on the blackboard and then
tells the students that they are going to listen to a song in which the days of the week are mentioned.
Materials: blackboard
Activity 3
Aim: to introduce the new lesson and to develop students' reading, listening skillsInteraction: T-Ss. Ss-T
Time: 10
Procedure: The teacher plays the song from exercise 1, page 76. The students will listen to the song
at first with their books still closed. After the song ends the teacher tells the students to open their
books at page 76 and pay attention to exercise 1. Then the teacher will play the song once more
making sure that the students look over the song in their books while the song is playing.
After the song ends students take turn in reading the text aloud.
Materials: CD, CD-player, students' books
Activity 4
Aim: to introduce the new vocabulary and to develop students' writing skills
Interaction: T-Ss. Ss-T
Time: 15
Procedure: After the text is read, the teacher writes on the blackboard the new vocabulary and the
students copy the vocabulary in their notebooks. Then the text is translated into Romanian.
Materials: students' notebooks, blackboard

Aim: to check students' understanding of the lesson

Procedure: The teacher asks the students to close their books and notebooks. Then she gives each
student worksheets containing the days of the week. Then she asks the students to put the days of
the week in order. The students who finishes first gets a grade (F.B.).
Materials: worksheets, scissors

Time: 5
Homework: The students will have an exercise in which they will have to complete with the missing
letters the days of the week. They will also have to learn the new vocabulary by heart.
