Praise God! For the rain, for the fresh breath with which He graced us through Gary and Dana this past weekend. Prayer is one of the most practical and sure expression of our faith. May the Lord raise up men who will lead their families in prayer and time in God's Word. May the Lord raise up families who gather together everyday for prayer and time in God's Word. May the Lord raise up churches whose prayer lights are always on and who are founded on and driven by God's Word. Living Like Winners! "...everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the vic-tory that has overcome the world, even our faith." 1 John 5:4
I know that the victory was won fair and square. But there are times I feel like we are cheating. It is like we are playing a bas-ketball game where we still have to play defense, still have to move the ball around to get it as close to the basket as possible to get the best percentage shot. There are still times when we are behind on the scoreboard. And we are looking at the guys on the court hustling and fumbling and the guys on the bench and we think, "How can we win with this bunch?" Except…

The Messenger
Living Like Winners (continued) Except we already know how game ends. The game has already been won.
We won! Because of what Jesus did on the cross. "Everything of God gets ex-
pressed in Christ... When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything. Entering into this fullness is not
something you figure out or achieve... you’re already in—insiders—not
through some secretive initiation rite but rather through what Christ has al-ready gone through for you, destroying the power of sin... When you were
stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God
brought you alive—right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s
cross. He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham au-
thority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets" (Colossians
2:9-15, MSG).
What allows us to appropriate this victory in our daily lives and in the
most difficult of circumstances is our faith. "This is the victory that has over-come the world, even our faith." To trust God completely. To trust what He
said in the Bible wholeheartedly. To believe Him. "Loving God means doing
what he tells us to do, and really, that isn’t hard at all; for every child of God can obey him, defeating sin and evil pleasure by trusting Christ to help
him" (vv. 3-4, TLB).
Jesus said His grace will always be sufficient for anything and everything we face. You can look at the darkness that seems to engulf you. You can be
driven by your emotions that are running amok. Or you can simply trust and
rest in His grace. He said He is right there beside us when we go through hard times. "All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Fa-
ther of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we
go through hard times" (2 Corinthians 1:3, MSG). You worry about bills and payments and loss of job and taking care of your family or putting food on the
table. God said He will take care of you. "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will
wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the
birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than
they?" (Matthew 6:25-26).
Yes! You are much more valuable to your Father!
The issue has always been whether we will trust God or not. God has
proven Himself over and over. In the Scriptures. In our lives. Circumstances
will shock us. But believers need to quickly run to Jesus and trust Him and what He has said in His Word completely. The scoreboard may say we are los-
ing. But we are not. Jesus has already won the victory. We simply live it out.
By faith. "This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith."

Every Parent wants to raise great kids, yet often we fall short of our dreams. Sometimes we’re just too busy and distracted. Some of us had less than ideal role models. Some of us are working at it, but we just don’t have a good game plan. Are you willing to invest one day in order to empower your kids... forever? With God’s help and a plan, you can raise truly great kids. This conference is a grace-based, character-driven model to nurture con-fident and cooperative kids-and have a great time in the process.
Parenting is the biggest job you will ever do. Give it your best.
This fun, fast-paced conference delves into:
What it takes to raise kids in the midst of busy lives.
Practical ways to take the fear out and put the fun back into parenting
Preparing your child’s heart to re-ceive God’s plan
Turning heartache to hope with your rebellious child
How to bring out the best in your strong-willed child
Creating an environment of love and respect
Giving your child tools to practically deal with their culture
How to lead your child to be a great adult
When it comes to parenting, the days are long... but the years are short.
