1. INTRODUCTION

This document describes the materials and processes required to install commercial voice

synthesis (Hisselektronik).

1.1. Object

The commercial voice synthesis installation consists of an extension board EXT5.20, a VA03-

SD board (Hisselektronik board) and a P.C. Microphone/Speaker (code 5124321). In addition

to these boards, the installation also requires cables code 9460126 (board VA03-SD with

Microphone/Speaker) and code 5102436 (with EXT5.20 extension board with PDCC). To

connect board EXT5.20 and board VA03-SD follow diagram 0461257.

1.2. Tools and equipment

In order that all the features referred to below can be carried out the following are necessary:

CPU software version V3.00 or later.

ORONA CT with CT software version 7.0 or later. To check the CT software version go to

menu 2.8.1 CT Functions – Configuration – About CT). The number after “Soft” is the

software version.

A formatted Smart Media card Code ORONA 51 24413 containing the file for the device. In

this case for the door operator.

Commercial voice synthesis activation software code 5125020.

SD card (Secure Digital) with a capacity of between 128 MB and 2 GB.

2. VA03-SD BOARD CONFIGURATION

Voice synthesis is played back through voice announcer VA03-SD (Hisselektronik). This

announcer must have an SD card inserted containing the messages to be played back. The

messages are activated by the controller via an Extension 5 interface.

2.1. Version history

Up to CPU software version V3.50/V4.50 only two types of message could be played using

Hisselektronik VA03-SD voice announcer:

1. Floor Messages: messages played when doors open on arrival at the destination floor.

2. Messages that indicate direction: messages played when the lift starts travelling up or

down.

From version V3.60/V4.60 all voice announcer messages included with Autodialler board 2005

(code 5124342) can be played.

2.2. SD card configuration

SD card must be formatted before copying messages there. To format the card, the FAT file

system must be used rather than FAT32.

ATTENTION

SD card capacity must be between 128MB and 2GB.

A numbered folder structure must be created. A single message is to be saved in each folder

which is then replayed on activating the inputs on board VA03-SD which coincide with the

folder number (for example, on activating inputs 4 and 2 on board VA03-SD, the message

saved in folder 10, 001010 in binary is played back). Only one message in each folder is

played back.

A card reader should be used to copy the folders from the PC to the SD card.

2.3. Audio file formats

RECORDING SPECIFICATIONS

File type *.wav (uncompressed format)

SAMPLING RATE 16 bit (Mono)

SAMPLING FREQUENCY 16 kHz

The audio messages can be recorded in any professional recording studio. In any event, there

are multiple commercial audio recording software titles (for example Adobe Audition) that

together with a Sound Card installed on the computer can be sufficient to make recordings.

2.4. Folder structure

2.4.1. Up to CPU version V3.50/V4.50

The structure is comprised of the following folders:

Folders nos. 10 and 11 for up and down messages (compulsory)

Folders nos. 14, 15, 16… up to 45 for the different building floors (up to 32).

Folder No. MESSAGE WHEN PLAYED COMPULSORY

More or less floor message folders to be included depending on the number of floors at

a particular installation. A minimum installation is comprised of two floors, and

therefore folders 14 y 15 are compulsory.

If you do not require the non-compulsory (or optional) messages, simply don’t create

the corresponding folders.

The inclusion of non-compulsory messages does not necessarily imply their

reproduction. Some messages are only reproduced if the installation contains the

corresponding annex. For example, an installation without the fire service annex cannot

play the message in folder 50.
