    LEVELING AND WEIGHING- GENERAL

    1. Scope

    A. This chapter provides information necessary to properly level the airplane.

    B. For information on airplane weighing procedures, refer to the applicable Model 172 Pilots OperatingHandbook and FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual.

    2. Tools, Equipment and Material

    Spirit Level Commercially available Spirit level used to level air-plane.

    3. Definition

    A. This chapter is divided into sections to aid maintenance personnel in locating information.Consulting the Table of Contents will further assist in locating a particular subject. A brief definitionof the sections incorporated in this chapter is as follows:(1) The section on leveling provides maintenance practices and instructions for longitudinal and

    lateral leveling of the airplane. This leveling is accomplished using a spirit level of at least 18inches in length.(2) For information on weighing the airplane, refer to the applicable Model 172 Pilots Operating

    Handbook and FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual.
