EYP - Curriculum Morning EYP
E YP curriculum morning held on 28th July 2018 was a very well planned, organized and
successful event. It gave an insight and in-depth knowledge to the parents on the academic
aspects of the curriculum with respective subject areas. Curriculum morning gave an
opportunity to the parents to interact with the teachers and clarify their doubts with the
homeroom teachers. The PPT presented in the class explained and emphasized the rules
and regulations to be followed through the year in order to encourage meaningful learning
and smooth functioning of the programme through the academic year 2018-19.We wish
our students teachers and parents a very successful academic year ahead!

Nursery (Finger painting activity) EYP
K1 – STORY ON ‘SENSES’
K 1’s ongoing unit’s central idea “Humans uses senses to explore the word around them” was introduced to the learners through a story enacted by homeroom teachers. The story expressed the 5 different types of senses along with the sensory organs related to it and also emphasized on the importance of senses in our lives .Learners were engaged throughout the session with a lot of fun and frolic and a thorough inquiry based learning took place. Learning through stories creates a very vital impact on the young minds of the curious learners and enables them to enhance their thinking skills.

PYP Noun activity– Grade 2B
T he students of Grade 2B demonstrated great enthusiasm to participate in the ABC
Noun Game conducted in class. They showed the attitude of co-operation by working in
teams effectively. Each team had to pick up a flash card from their respective piles and
correlate both the cards to give the correct answer. They scored brownie points for the
exact answers given. This enabled the students of 2B to get a deeper understanding on
the concept of nouns.

PYP TIC TAC TOE - Grade: 4
Date: 30th July, 2018
T IC TAC TOE, Where do I go? An assessment task, created for grade 4 students, was a fun way to assess students’ understanding on words connected to ‘Behaviour, Appearance and Perceptions’. The cut and paste activity was very much enjoyed by the students as it was a creative task and the use of scissors involved hand-eye co-ordination, thus developing fine motor skills. Brain storming activity of placing words in correct column was a challenging task but was completed by most of the students within the allotted time.

PYP
S tudents inquired and researched about various local and global social activists who
worked immensely for the welfare of underprivileged children. These activists have
rescued children from innumerable risks and challenges that they go through on a daily
basis. Some of the social activists that they researched upon are Akua Sena Dansua,
Kenneth Gyamerah, Anand Mahindra and Dipko.

PYP Implementing the IB Learner Profile
A ll the IB programmes are built on a firm commitment to 'develop internationally minded people, who recognising their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world' (IBO, 2007). One way our school seeks to meet the ideals and mission statement of the International Baccalaureate is to support the development of the Learner Profile in the school community. The Learner Profile is a collection of 10 personal attributes that each and every student and teacher must strive to imbibe on an on going basis. In the PYP we endeavour to live out the attributes of the Learner Profile in the classroom, on the sporting field and in the wider community. The qualities embodied in LP describe a broad range of human capacities and responsibilities that go beyond academic success. PYP students of upper primary revisited the meaning of learner profile traits and identified key words within the definition. They also watched a short video and named the Learner Profile traits that were visible to them. At the end, students completed their reflection on activity. -Paminder Kohli
