He saw the linen wrappings lying there, 7 and the cloth that had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen wrappings but rolled up in a place by itself. 8 Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; 9 for as yet they did not understand the scripture, that he must rise from the dead. 10 Then the disciples returned to their homes. 11 But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb; 12 and she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had been lying, one at the head and the other at the feet. 13 They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.” 14 When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” 16 Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni!” (which means Teacher). 17 Jesus said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” 18 Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”; and she told them that he had said these things to her. Have you truly read these words of the resurrection story? I guess a better question would be, have you lived out these words? This one event that took place changed the course of history. It comes down to this— we can read the words of the resurrection, we can know what the story of the resurrection is, but unless we truly take it into our hearts and let it change us from the inside out that is all it is, a story. So, again How are you living out the Resurrection Story in your life? Blessings, Rev. April APRIL’S MUSINGS Rev. April Wegehaupt

Thank you so much for all the treats for conferences. The staff really appreciated them.

Dr. Kent Wire (These treats were provided by members of the Mission Committee as part of our on-going commitment to keep the teachers and staff of

    CHS in our prayers.)

Dear Friends, Thank you for your support this year of Forest Park Confer-ence and Retreat Center through your commitment to the Great Plains Mission Shares. It is due to the faithfulness of UM Churches like you that Forest Park continues to be available in ministry. This year the Board made a dramatic change in direction by hiring co-executive directors, Rev. Kevin and Jennifer (Braker) Rea. Their mission is to develop and facilitate programs that will compliment your vision for ministry. We hope you will welcome them to the Great Plains UM Conference and pray for them and their new ministry.

    Crucifixion

    They placed the cross

upon His back Yet, no one seemed

to care The weight across His

    shoulders Seemed more than He

    could bear.

The spikes were driven in His hands

    And pounded through His feet

The ones who had convicted Him

    Were cheering in the street.

The crown of thorns placed on His head Brought blood upon

His brow The day of prophecy

had come He had to face it now.

    The sins of man were

laid to rest He bore a heavy loss The agony He must

have felt As He hung there on the cross.

    The innocent blood of

Jesus Christ Was shed for all to see

The Son of God was crucified And died for you and me.
