“We’ve Got Your Back” Race/Walk
Spinal Research Foundation event on May 12, raises awareness of spinal health
and contributes to life-changing research and educational programs
April 11, 2012 – c5 Wealth Management, LLC, is proud to sponsor the 5th Annual “We’ve Got Your Back”
Race for Spinal Health, the signature awareness and fundraising event of the Spinal Research
Foundation (SRF).
The Race/Walk will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Reston, Virginia, and includes a Spinal Health
Fair focused on nutrition, exercise, and prevention of spinal problems. It will also show what people can
do to ensure good bone health.
The Race/Walk is also an occasion to celebrate “Spinal Champions” who have overcome back and neck
pain and are no longer suffering.
Funds raised at the event contribute directly to life-changing research and educational programs
conducted by SRF.
“More than 90 percent of the population will suffer from severe neck and/or low back pain during their
lifetime,” said Thomas C. Schuler, MD, president of the Spinal Research Foundation. “Approximately 10
percent of these people develop chronic pain, which means that at any given time, 35 million people in
the United States are directly affected by disabling pain and many more indirectly.”

encourages those who are able to participate to join in on the fundraising activities.
Four current and former Washington Redskins players who have successfully dealt with neck or back
pain are expected to participate in the event. They include London Fletcher, Rocky McIntosh, Reed
Doughty, and James Thrash.
The “We’ve Got Your Back” Race for Spinal Health will be held at SRF headquarters at 1831 WiehleAvenue, Reston, Virginia. The Spinal Health Fair begins at 8 a.m. and Opening Ceremonies start at 8:30
a.m.
The 5K race begins at 9 a.m., followed by a one mile run/walk. Winners of the race will receive a cash
prize ranging from $50-300. (Age group winners will receive gift certificates.) All children to finish the one
mile run/walk will be given a commemorative medal.
