Umbrella, a travel agency that plans tripsof all varieties and keeps people frombeing overwhelmed by the endlessoptions presented on the Internet.
“People call me all the time who arecompletely overwhelmed with all that’sout there. I help people walk through dif-ferent types of properties.”
She’s run the business out of her DanielIsland home for four years. This year willbe the first time she has a booth at theFlowertown Festival.
“I basically plan travel but I don’t haveany service fees,” Fry said. “All of my
travel planning is complementary to myservice.
“I’m making sure they get the best dealpossible setting up their trip and makingsure everything goes smoothly.”
She says there is no upcharge with her.Fry plans honeymoons, cruises, desti-
nation weddings and a new type of tripcalled the “baby-moon.”
“It’s where the couple takes their lastbig trip before they add on one more totheir family.”
Despite a number of travel optionsavailable online, Fry says going throughan agent allows for a person connectionand ensuring that the traveler picks thebest resort for them.
Fry is able to tell clients more abouttheir trip before it happens and then canassist them once they’re on their way.
“I make sure everything is goingsmoothly for them and (give them) basi-cally anything they need while they’reaway. Most of the time I don’t have to doanything like that. I am an advocate forthem if there’s something they need.”
Fry said she makes sure to help her cus-
tomers find the best rates.“I really love to travel. I love helping
people find their perfect spot. I reallylove honeymoons and destination wed-dings. It’s such a special time in people’slives.”
The Caribbean is one of her favoriteplaces.
“I love the Caribbean. Basically any-where in the Caribbean makes me happy.It’s just a relaxed atmosphere. It’s great… gorgeous blue waters, sand. It’s a per-fect beach vacation.”
The best way to get there is to fly. “Each little airport is different. Most
airports in the Caribbean have aCaribbean band like steel drums or amariachi band. There are things like thatto welcome you. The minute you set footyou’re in vacation mode.”
