Inauguration of RO Water Filter at Shree Chaitanya Vidyalaya, Nira28th February 2020

FIL/MMF kindly donated water Filter to Shree Chaitanya Vidyalaya Nira Niranarsingpur

Tal-Indapur Dist Pune. Inauguration took place in presence of Mr. Pradip Garatkar, President -

Pune District NCP, Our Dealer Maharashtra Agency Indapur, Principal Mr. Dhananjay Dunakhe,

Mr. Srikant Dandawate Sanstha Karyavahak, Sarpanch Mrs. Dingre Gram panchayat Member

and school Students. Total 560 students benefitted.

Cerebral Palsy (CP) Reassessment Camp in Ratnagiri February 29th and 1st March 2020

Since 2017, MMF has been conducting CP Reassessment camps annually to ensure

well-being of CP patients in and around the rural areas of Ratnagiri. This year as part of the

same initiative along with team of Sancheti Hospital and Bharati Vidyapeeth, FIL and MMF

have organized CP reassessment camp in Ratnagiri, on 29th Feb & 1st March and the same

was inaugurated by Dr. Bolde civil surgeon Ratnagiri.

Donation of Advance Colonoscopy and Pediatrics Endoscope to Sassoon General Hospital - Gastro department in Found Memory of our Founder Late Shri Pralhad P Chhabria on his 90th Birth Anniversary.

12th March 2020

FIL/MMF upgraded the Gastro department at Sassoon General Hospital & B. J. Medical College Pune in remembrance of the birth anniversary of our Founder, Late Shri Pralhad P Chhabria

A state of the art Endoscopy unit was created and inaugurated in April 2018 by Finolex which has been constantly upgraded. Today once again this unit has been supported with 2 more advanced equipments

1. Advance Colonoscopy (for carrying out procedures of colon like sub mucosal dissection, myotomy and colonic bleeding case)

2. Pediatric Endoscope (for diagnosing & treatment of new-born and infants)

This gastro department carries out advance procedures like POEM, Pancreatic stenting, Esophageal Dilatation, Stent Removal, Binding and Biopsy at a minimal government charge or free of charge. Facilities available is at Par with any other Private Hospital in Pune and more affordable to a common man.

More than 5675 Patients have benefited

Dr. Patwardhan and his team assisted patients. This time many new pediatric patients

attended the camp along with regular patients and found very good change in patients.

Total 86 patients were assisted. 15 cases were referred for surgeries and 35 cases for Orthotic

device. We have taken measurements for the same.

Mrs. Aruna Katara, President Hope foundation, Dr. Anand Deshpande, Founder & Chairman

Persistent systems visited rehabilitation and interacted with doctors and patients. They

appreciated the initiative of FIL/MMF for children with disabilities in remote areas.

Tie up with ITI Pune to provide Female Plumbers internship followed by placements.12th March 2020

Thirty girls from ITI Pune, who are undergoing a Plumbing trade will complete their course by

the first week of April 2020. FIL/MMF in collaboration with Credai will empower these female

plumbers to secure an internship followed by better placements. This will indeed make a

difference by having women plumbers in this trade which was male dominated. 11th March,

being World Plumbers Day let's salute these girls.

Women’s day celebration at Nasik (BAIF) 12th March 2020

FIL/MMF in collaboration with BAIF started project Suprakashita to train 100 women farmers

in Sinnar, Cluster of Nasik. These women farmers will become a champion farmers and will

train 1000 women farmers in that region.

On 12th March, we celebrated International Women's Day with these women farmers. Chief

Guest of the program was Padmashri Beej Mata Rahibai Popare and she encouraged all

women with sharing her expertise and experience.

Inauguration of 127 toilets in Sange Nane village, Dist. Palghar. 12th March 2020

FIL/MMF since June 2017 have been working closely in Palghar to create individual toilets to

tribal villages in collaboration with Kherwadi Social Welfare Association’s (KSWA) Yuva

Parivartan.

These toilets are designed in an eco-friendly manner comprising of a squatting pan, a

sub-structure (pit) containing, decomposing and disposing excreta (which over the period of 5

years will be evolved to manure that is required for farming) and a super structure (body) (2*3

ft.) tiled for privacy and protection from weather factors. Each individual toilet is provided with

solar light. The toilets have name boards in the name of the lady of the household.

The project of 459 toilet construction was carried out phase wise in following manner.

• First phase construction of 50 toilets in Sonale.

• Second Phase construction of 30 toilets in Vadavli

• Third phase construction of 50 toilets in Kev, Hamrapur and Baveghar

• Fourth phase construction of 77 toilets in Keltan, Sapne and Karalgaon

• Fifth phase construction of 125 toilets in Sange-Nane

• Sixth Phase 127 toilets inaugurated in Sange Nane village and completed 459

individual toilets in 7 villages.

Donation of various equipments & protective material to various Hospitals in Pune as well as Zhilla Parishad, Satara.21st -27th March 2020

In Response to Covid-19, over the past few days FIL/MMF have been supporting KEM

hospital, Sassoon Hospital, Naidu Hospital, Tarachand Hospital and the Police fraternity with

various items.

Donation of 4 Indoor Ion Generator based Air and Surface Purifiers to

Naidu Hospital.20th March 2020

FIL/MMF in Collaboration with SCI-Tech Park headed by Dr Rajendra Jagdale supported

Naidu Infectious Diseases Hospital with a Scitech Airon - Ion Generator based air and surface

purifier.

A global threat faced by people today is COVID – 19 which has been declared by WHO as

Pandemic alerting all countries all over the globe. Total cases in India has risen to 200. The

most crucial step Pune is taking is to arrest the community transmission of this virus.

At this juncture Science and Technology Park approached Pune Municipal Corporation to

install with an immediate innovative technology solution which will help restrict the spread of

the virus and also improve the indoor environment for faster recovery of the already affected

patients at Naidu Infectious Diseases Hospital. Therefore Sci-Tech Park approached MMF to

support through the CSR funds to donate 4 of the Airon Air Purifier. FIL/MMF installed these 4

machines at Naidu Hospital, Pune.

Grocery Kit distribution to the less fortunate during the Lockdown 26th March 2020

FIL/MMF identified families of daily wage earners who are struggling to get meal due the

Coronavirus lockdown in Pune. Kindness kit consisting of Soap, Dal, Rice, Atta, Sugar, Grains,

Pulses, Poha, Rawa, Tea, Sugar and Spices which can last for 14 days was procured and

assembled, which will reach over 1300 such families by Monday 30th March. 200 families

residing in following locations in Pune has received the kit.

Updates from Masar

Installation of 50 LED street lights in Abhor Village, Gujarat 28th February 2020

Abhor Village had a major problem regarding streetlights, the

gram panchayat used crude CFL bulb fixations to provide light

at night.

They approached FIL/MMF with their problem which took the

initiative and installed 50 LED streetlights.

These streetlights will last longer, save more energy and

provide brighter light at night.

The Sarpanch and villagers appreciated the initiative taken and support given by FIL/MMF.

Inauguration at Padra Govt. Hospital - Child Malnutrition Treatment Centre ( CMTC ward) 13th March 2020

Inauguration of the 10 units of hospital Beds, Mattresses, Pillows, Blankets, all-purpose stool,

Bedside locker and 20 Bedsheets donated by FIL/MMF to Padra Hospital CMTC ward (Child

Malnutrition Treatment Centre) was done on March 13th, 2020. Dr. Sweta Shah (Superintendent,

Padra Community Health Centre) and Dr. Vimal Singh (Taluka Health officer, Padra) graced the

event with their presence.

CMTC ward which is in the government hospital provides children under the age of 1 year and

their mothers with healthy and nutritious foods. Along with the treatment for 14 days or as per

requirement. Malnourished children are taken proper care and sent home after the treatment.

Last year (2018-19) around 200 children were treated, this year (2019-2020) 186 children are

treated by now.

FIL/MMF was appreciated for the support. The THO also added that the provision of these

facilities will provide comfort and encourage mothers to come for their child's treatment.

400 masks made by FIL/MMF Stitching Skill Center women were given to Padra Taluka Health Center.*

23rd March 2020

FIL/MMF Stitching Skill Center women stitched 400 masks and the same were given to Padra

Taluka Health Center.* These masks will be used by Padra Health Center and PHCs Doctors,

Nursing Staff and ASHA workers who’ll be spreading door to door awareness regarding

COVID-19.

Through this initiative of FIL/MMF the women of the stitching skill center were paid on per

mask basis which helped in supporting them financially.

Furthermore these masks also helped health workers in continuing their mission against

COVID-19.

Dr. Vimalsing, Taluka Health Officer appreciated FIL/MMF’s quick response and support in

these times of need.

2020. The Managing Trustee and all the MMV staff wished them good luck for their exams.

On account of International women's' day celebrations, a cake was cut by all the lady teachers

and maids to mark this occasion.

13th March 2020

On 13th March 2020, Dr. Santosh (Medical Officer, Coast Guard Unit, Ratnagiri) delivered a

lecture to all the students of MMV creating awareness among them with regard to the spread

of corona virus and the precaution that they need to take while they are sitting at home.

18th March 2020

On the pandemic of Corona virus, Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya

had to give off to all the students for their safety. With a view

that though they are sitting at home but are not missing their

studies, MMV has provided 5 worksheets per subject to

every students. Online lectures are also being carried out for

the students of Std 9 going to Std 10.

Success Story

Sayali Santosh Gite student of Yashwantrao Mohite College, Pune

passed M.Sc. Microbiology in flying colours and now working with

Springer Nature, Magarpattacity, Pune drawing a salary of

Rs.20,000/pm. FIL/MMF has supported her with educational

assistance for persuing education. She is a single parent child.

Mother is a Jr. Kg. teacher at PWC, Katraj School. Drawing a very

meager salary of Rs.7000/pm. & runs the family of two. Student

and her mother both appreciated the support of MMF and expressed their gratitude toward

this noble work.

Finolex Industries and Mukul Madhav Foundation have been recognized by Yuva Foundation

for the philanthropic work carried out by the foundation. On behalf of Finolex Industries

Ritu Chhabria honored with ‘Punyadham Humanitarian Service’ Award

Ritu Prakash Chhabria was honored with Punyadham Humanitarian Service Award for

relentlessly working for our society and impacting lives of the lesser privileged of our society.

This award was presented to her at the hands of Padma Bhushan Prof. S B Majumdar, Padma

Bhushan Dr Vijay Bhatkar and with the Divine blessings of Maa Krishna Kashyap.school and

were also shown a PPT in the LCD room.
