Support Services CoreRFID assists in planning, implementing and operating RFID solutions.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) applications have the potential to change the way a business operates. Theycan be at the centre of new processes, new products and new ways of workingwith customers and suppliers. As a result the design, implementation and on-going support of RFID based solutions is often a critical consideration in theoverall business case for deployment.

As an RFID solution provider that has delivered hardware, software and

complete integrated solutions, CoreRFID offers a range of services to helpcustomers succeed with their RFID applications. Our unique combination of capabilities and our track record as a supplier of tags and readers, a developer of RFID applications, an integrator and a solution implementer, makes us the idealsupport partner.

Support Approach

The CoreRFID support approach is based on providing an agreed, customised,comprehensive support package tuned to the customer’s needs.

CoreRFID recognises that different customers have different capabilities in-house and so may have different support needs. Anessential part of the project planning process is to agree the ways in which CoreRFID works with our customers during thedesign, development, implementation, and on-going operations phases.

In order to co-ordinate customer requirement, product shipments, technical resources and the customer’s own project planCoreRFID provides a nominated Account Manager. In addition to this the customer has direct access to CoreRFID technicalstaff by telephone or Internet. The CoreRFID support approach includes as standard, second line and third line support for CoreRFID developed application software products and first line support (with appropriate escalation and responsemanagement from third parties) for software development kits and other third party developed software products.

CoreRFID uses rapid application development approaches based on prototyping and collaborative development but is also ableto work with customers under such project management approaches as PRINCE2. Agreement on project responsibilities andthe project governance (including if necessary the involvement of CoreRFID management in project steering boards) is seen asa critical success factor in the delivery of RFID solutions.

CoreRFID appreciate that RFID technology is often the basis of business critical systems which might require further levels of support and are happy to discuss these on a customer or site specific basis.

CoreRFID support approach aims to meet customer needs in all phases.

CoreRFID provides support to all phases of the project lifecycle, helping to establish feasible projects, to deliver them and toensure that they continue to provide the anticipated benefits through their operational lifetime.

Solution Design & Proving

Devising effective RFID based solution may involve experimentation to determine the most effective combination of readers,antennas, power settings and tags. CoreRFID is always happy to work with customers to determine the most appropriatesolution to their business needs. If necessary CoreRFID is able to quote for consultancy, design and development work to

support pilot implementations and technology evaluations as part of an overall project.

Development & Customisation

CoreRFID offers two approaches to the creation of RFID based applications; development & customisation. Customisation isour preferred approach. Using, wherever possible, existing CoreRFID applications, we customise and adapt the software tomeet the customer’s needs. Building on previously proven application code, customisation offers a speedy way to implementrobust, customer specific, applications. Development creates a completely new application from scratch, matching exactly thecustomer’s secified requirements. CoreRFID provides relevant specification, development and testing services. Developmentcapabilities span, portable computing platforms, database systems and web technologies.

Implementation

CoreRFID provides services for implementation that include software installation (if required), user operations training(generally on a “train the trainer” basis) and, if relevant software developer training.

On-Going Support

Continuing support is provided under a Support Contract which delivers, as standard:

•  Bug fix downloads

•  Support access to technical expertise using telephone, CoreRFID web site, Live Chat and remote desktop

•  Operations support for hosted applications where provided
