One of the biggest events it supports is Shell Eco-marathon Europe, which challenges student teams from around the world to design, build and test ultra energy-efficient vehicles on an urban track. The event also features The Lab, which is packed with attractions. The 2016 and 2017 events took place at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, a challenging urban track, after four years of the event being hosted in Rotterdam. “DCRS have supplied radio communications to the event since 2012, and have developed a deep understanding of Imagination’s requirements,” says Matt Rose, production director at Imagination, which organises the event on Shell’s behalf. To provide full coverage at last year’s event, DCRS installed six MOTOTRBO™ repeaters operating in Capacity Plus Mode (digital trunking) at the highest point of the track. Two more MOTOTRBO™ repeaters were provided in case more capacity was required. A battery back-up UPS unit was installed to ensure that the radio system would still work in the event of a power outage. Full on-site coverage checks took place prior to the system being handed over on the day before the event. DCRS also installed two MOTOTRBO™ DM fixed mobiles with power supply units and clip on antenna for use by event control. A DCRS engineer remained on-site for the entire duration of the event.“On- site technical support provided by DCRS has become an integral part of the core event team, and always ends with a post-show report on usage, suggestions and improvements for the future, adds Rose. “All the equipment DCRS supply is in excellent condition and the support we receive for this show critical element has always been impeccable. DCRS have always been able to provide coverage in the challenging conditions of working across disparate sites around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and beyond.” If you require two-way radio to support an event and are interested to hear more about the value and expertise DCRS can provide, please email [email protected] or call on 0800 043 2688 HIRE, SALES AND SERVICE OF VOICE AND DATA RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS AND APPLICATIONS Direct Communications Radio Services Ltd Call FREE: 0800 043 2688 email: [email protected] www.dcrs.co.uk 020_LM25(02)_DCRS.indd 20 02/02/2018 16:53

able to support large events all over the world. One of the biggest events it supports is Shell Eco-marathon Europe, which challenges student teams from around the world to design, build and test ultra energy-efficient vehicles on an urban track. The event also features The Lab, which is packed with attractions. “DCRS have supplied radio communications to the event since 2012, and have developed a deep understanding of Imagination’s

requirements,” says Matt Rose, production director at Imagination, which organises the event on Shell’s behalf.
