Printworks (formerly Harmsworth Quays) was built in 1989 and operated until 2013. For 24 years, The Evening Standard, The Daily Mail and The Metro newspapers rolled off its presses. The unique industrial spaces have been used as a location for films, The Avengers: The Age of Ultron, Tomorrow Never Dies and Criminal starring Kevin Costner. Printworks now has a new life as an event venue and is open for hire.
Printworks is a versatile 119,200 sq ft event space with a capacity of 6,000 and a 2am licence at weekends.
It comprises six acres of private, gated land, with six event spaces arranged over multiple levels with a maze of corridors and offices. A further 40,000 sq ft of outdoor space and parking is also available.
It offers producers, agencies and brands masses of creative, flexible and inspiring infrastructure. Printworks is the ultimate blank canvas for conferences, exhibitions, experiential events, concerts, product launches and filming.

The Vanway once housed the final stage of the printing process, where vans would collect newspapers hot off the press for UK distribution. With all original features, and accessed through large, industrial shutter doors, The Vanway is an excellent venue for unique product launches and performances.

At over 30,000 sq ft, there is ample space to host a conference, product launch, exhibition or experiential event. HSBC is a flexible and inspiring space to bring your event vision to life. The hire includes offices overlooking the space.

The Press Halls are the jewel in the Printworks’ crown and retain original machinery and industrial features.
The two huge, fully sound-proofed rooms used to print papers 24 hours a day. The Press Halls offer two floors of jaw-dropping event space, suitable for large-scale experiential events, immersive theatre, filming and live music.

The outdoor space at Printworks covers 40,000 sq ft.
With capacity for upwards of 2,000 people, this space is excellent for product launches and brand activations that require an outdoor stunt or finale, or for festival style events featuring street food vendors.

pERmISSIONSLicensable activities are available on Sundays to Thursdays until 1am, and on Fridays and Saturdays until 2am. Extensions beyond these times are possible upon request.
If you are selling tickets or alcohol for your event then you will require permission from our legal team and will need to work within our license.
HEalTH & SafETYAll venue hirers will be required to provide Health & Safety documentation for their event. Our consultant who has fully surveyed the site would be happy to quote for this work.

damagE dEpOSITWe will hold a damage deposit for every event – the value will vary depending on the activity itself and length of hire. We will conduct pre and post event venue checks with you to catalogue any damages. The deposit will be returned to you in full 7 days after the hire period ends, assuming no damage.
capacITYPrintworks can host 5,000 people for DJ/music led events and 6,000 for all daytime events and activities. Individual space capacities are dependent on event activities and production.
cONTRacTSEvent facilities are hired subject to Printworks’ standard licence agreement. A thorough schedule of hire will be required for each event. A standard template will be supplied and will form part of the licence agreement.
adVERTISINg & pROmOTIONSAll venue hirers must submit advertising and promotional material in relation to their event for landlord approval in advance of release to the public domain.
paYmENTSAll fees are payable in full prior to access on site. Upon confirmation we will invoice for 50% of the hire fee, with the remainder including any other charges due one month before the hire period.

Milla Jovovich, actress and model, starred in the world’s first ever drive through immersive theatre experience, to launch the new Toyota C-HR. The seven-scene interactive production - entitled ‘The Night That Flows’ - was staged within the immense space of Printworks London. The experience saw over 100 guests immersed in the story of one amazing fictional night as they flowed through five European cities, including Berlin, Milan, Paris, Barcelona and London.
The event was created by a team comprised of some of the world’s finest theatrical and technical design talent, all brought together under The Department’s Creative Directors Jonny Grant and Hamish Jenkinson, with Jessica Rees Middleton as Executive Producer. Performance direction from James Seager and Joe Hufton from London’s immersive theatrical group Les Enfants Terribles, international award winning set designer takes and projection from Dick Straker at Mesmer.

ADIDAS KICK OFF PROJECT POGBA AT PRINTWORKS LONDON.
Manchester United star Paul Pogba appeared at Printworks London in December, as the face of Adidas’s Project Pogba campaign. Pogba was choppered in, and joined by hip hop superstar Stormzy and Radio 1Xtra DJ, Twin B.
Guests included Adidas Tango Squad, YouTube big hitters, and the UK’s freshest young football talent, all thrilled to be in the presence of greatness and the famous brand with three stripes.
Football-mad guests were led through The Press Halls and into the cavernous Reel Storage space, to test the new Red Limit models with interactive challenges, The Street, The Cage and The Stadium.
The event showcased Adidas’s creative drive in the industrial setting of the Printworks.

Mulberry chose Printworks as the venue to launch its Summer 2017 collection, featuring a bold new collection from Johnny Coca.
Set within the authentic, industrial spaces of The Vanway and Publishing, over 900 guests watched two catwalks showcasing the season’s looks. Faces on the front row included Lady Mary Charteris, Sofia Boutella and Anais Gallagher.
The new collection drew inspiration from paradoxical elements of British society; respect, and rebellion.

Over a thousand people descended on Printworks London for the global launch of Triumph’s new Bonneville Bobber motorcycle. Famous faces included Rupert Grint, James McVey, Jess Glynne and Spencer Matthews.
NME award-winners The Vaccines and DJ Harriet Rose filled the impressive HSBC warehouse space with anthemic indie rock and the unmistakable roar of the Bonneville Bobber.
‘Team Triumph’ went head to head against a gang of international motorcycle journalists in an indoor drag race that included seven-time World Champion Carl Fogarty MBE, and three-time World Champion Freddie Spencer.
