    At the end of Fisher Lane, theroute continues on a mostlyclay track with someminorroads and concrete. There area series of gates and cattlegrids and grazing animalsfrom here to Pagham Harbour.

    Turn left onto Rookery Laneand follow into Mill Lanepassing the pub. Cycle roundthe harbour turning left offMill Lane following a narrowcycle path shared withpedestrians to the NatureReserve. Please take care.

    Start at the Market Cross andfollow the cycle route along EastStreet. Cycling restrictions applybetween 09.00 and 17.00.

    AThis part of the route is on roadand there can be heavy traffic.Turn right onto St Johns Street.Cross Market Avenue and turndown Caledonian Road followingcycle route signs to Bognor Regis.

    The route turns right onto LyndhurstRoad, crossesWhyke Lane and leftonto Cleveland Road. At the end ofCleveland Road, turn right ontoWhyke Road and turn left onto QuarryLane. At the end of Quarry Lane, crossthe A27 using the footbridge givingway to pedestrians.

    Follow the cycle route southalong Vinnetrow Road and turnright following the blue cycleroute signs through the Lakesand along School Lane.

    The Reserve issurrounded by manyhabitats includingshingle, open water,reed swamp and wetpermanent grassland.There are many rarespecies of fauna andflora in the Reserveincluding seals,wasp-spiders, herons,shrews, voles,butterflies along withmany species ofbreeding andmigratory birds.

    Chichester Ship Canalwas opened in 1823.One of the regularcargoes on the canalwas gold bullion fromPortsmouth to theBank of England.Water voles are aprotected species andhave been seen in thecanal.

    Pagham Harbour wasdeclared as a LocalNature Reserve (LNR)in 1964 and is almost600 hectares in sizewith around 280hectares of salt marshand tidal mudflats.

    Take care crossing intoChurch Road at NorthMundham indicated as bluecycle route 88. Continue forapproximately 2km.

    Follow the one-way system bearingright along Basin Road towards thecanal basin and turn left onto thecycle route to Hunston. Here theroute is a designated cycle path.

    At the Hunston bridge, follow thecycle route left towards NorthMundham on road ignoring thecycle route sign to Hunston.

    There are 2 alternative routes to get to point 1,follow either a,b,c or A,B,C,D.
