18 grandes y más de 70 victorias en el PGA, también es uno de los más prestigiosos

diseñadores de campos de golf del mundo. El “Gran Oso Dorado” nos ha dejado en la

Región de Murcia su impronta en el campo de GNK Alhama Signature. Fue el propio

Jack Nicklaus el que pensó, diseñó y supervisó las obras de GNK Alhama Signature,

estampando su firma como autor principal. Muchas veces podemos pensar que esto

tan solo un reclamo publicitario, pero todo lo contrario, cuando el inimitable Jack Nic-

klaus se involucra en un proyecto, es porque va a dedicarse en exclusiva a su cons-

trucción y así se puede apreciar en Alhama Signature, donde el moldeo del campo,

los greenes, las calles, la vegetación, etc... están muy bien pensadas con la finalidad

de cumplir los standares para llevar la firma del mismísimo Jack Nicklaus.

Murcia with the GNK Alhama Signature course. It was Jack Nicklaus himself who

thought, designed and supervised the works of GNK Alhama Signature, stamping his

Este campo es de estilo americano, con calles anchas, greenes de

moldeo exquisito y con 116 bunkers, es un campo bastante largo,

6.884 metros desde blancas. Un recorrido emocionante. Requiere

un gran dominio de todos los palos, especialmente del driver, un

campo muy exigente para todo tipo de jugadores. Aunque todos sus

hoyos ofrecen alternativas de juego, es fundamental pensar la es-

trategia para cada uno de sus hoyos, dependiendo de las limitacio-

nes o destrezas de cada jugador.

Durante todo el recorrido se puede disfrutar de unas maravillosas

vistas a Sierra Espuña, la sierra más popular de la Región de Mur-

cia. Su paisajismo, de estilo desertico, está bañado con grandes zo-

nas de arena cubiertas por la flora y fauna autoctona de la zona

mediterránea. Un campo precioso que te llena los ojos desde cual-

quier parte, y te ayuda a pasar grandes momentos.

Como dice Jack Nicklaus, “mi juego llegó hasta cierto punto en el

tiempo. Diseñar campos es mi pasión y con lo que más me siento

realizado. Cada vez que veo uno de mis recorridos siento que es

algo que va a perdurar para siempre.

El mantenimiento de un campo de golf como Alhama Signature re-

quiere algo de especial: mucho cariño y la máxima atención en los

detalles. Jugar un campo de este calibre es una experiencia para to-

dos los jugadores de golf, tanto estéticamente: porque impresiona,

como por su diseño: donde la estrategia juega un valor fundamental.

Para lograr estos objetivos se necesita de un amplio conocimiento

This course is American in style, with wide fairways, exquisite

shaped greens and with 116 bunkers, it is quite a long course at

6,884 metres from the white tees. An exciting round which requires a

great mastery of all the clubs, especially the driver, a very demand-

ing course for all types of players. Although all its holes offer game

alternatives, it is essential to think about the strategy for each of its

holes, depending on the limitations or skills of each player.

Throughout the round you can enjoy wonderful views of the Sierra

Espuña, the most popular mountain range of the Region of Murcia.

Its landscaping, desert style, is bathed with large areas of sand cov-

ered by native Mediterranean flora and fauna. A beautiful course with

delightful views from all around, that inspires you to great golf mo-

ments. As Jack Nicklaus says, “My golf game would only go to a cer-

tain point in time so designing courses is my passion and with what I

feel most accomplished. Every time I see one of my courses I feel it

is something that will last forever. Alhama Signature, is a great golf

Jack Nicklaus en Alhama Signature (2008)

Hoyo 4: 505 metros/blancas. Uno de los pares 5 más impre-

sionantes de la zona. Consta de un lago que comienza en el

tee de salida y se mueve sinuosamente por la derecha de la

calle hasta llegar al green. La estrategia a seguir es jugar el

hoyo por el lado izquierdo evitando algunos bunkers para no

ir al obstáculo de agua.

Hoyo 11: Un impresionante par 3 con salida en alto, el green tiene

un lago frontal que hace que el hoyo sea bonito a la vez que difícil.

La bandera corta a la izquierda recuerda a algún que otro torneo

en PGA Tour en el que o se gana o se pierde todo. Todo un hoyazo

marca Nicklaus.

Hole 4: 505 metres from the white tees. One of the most im-

pressive 5 pars in the area. It consists of a lake that begins at

the tee and moves sinuously down the right of the fairway until

you reach the green. The strategy to follow is to play the hole

down the left side avoiding the bunkers to stay clear of the water.

Hoyo 6

The 11th hole is an impressive par 3 from an elevated tee, the green

has a lake in front of it that makes the hole beautiful and difficult at the

same time. With the flag tight on the left it reminds you of another PGA

Tour tournament in which you either win or lose everything. A hole ty-

pical of the Nicklaus brand.

Driving Range

MAR MENOR GOLF Par 72. 6.153 metros. Diseñado por David Thomas

en sus primeros nueve hoyos, y los nueve segundos por Nicklaus

Design.

SAURINES GOLF Par 72. 6.473 metros. De estilo desértico y reminiscen-

cias al campo de Nicklaus en Lake, Las Vegas. Se caracteriza por

sus calles y greens ondulados entre dunas desérticas.

LA TORRE GOLF Par 68. 5.403 metros. Un campo que requiere mucha

atención, especialmente en todos los greens, ya que están muy bien

defendidos por bunkers, lagos y por sus formas de caparazón.

HACIENDA RIQUELME GOLF Par 72. 6.356 metros. Es el primer campo de

España en usar la variedad de césped Paspalum, muy resistente al

riego con aguas con un alto grado de salinidad. Calles muy amplias

y con bunkers únicos que crean una imagen espectacular.

EL VALLE GOLF Par 71. 6.185 metros. El campo se centra más en crear

dificultades y retos para el jugador que en la extensión del mismo,

premia la puntería y no la fuerza.

MAR MENOR GOLF Par 72. 6,153 metres. The front nine holes were de-

signed by David Thomas. The back nine holes were designed by

Nicklaus Design and is a par 35 of 2,878 metres from the white tees.

SAURINES GOLF Par 72, 6,473 metres. A desert style with reminiscen-

ces of Nicklaus Golf at Lake Las Vegas. It is characterised by its un-

dulating fairways and greens between desert dunes.

LA TORRE GOLF Par 68. 5.403 metres. The course requires a lot of atten-

tion, especially on all the greens, as they are very well defended by

bunkers and lakes with the turtle shell shape of the greens.

HACIENDA RIQUELME GOLF Par 72, 6,356 metres. It is the first golf course

in Spain to use the variety of Paspalum grass, which is very resis-

tant to salt water irrigation. It has wide fairways and unique bunkers

that create a spectacular image.

EL VALLE GOLF Par 71, 6,185 metres. The course puts a premium on

accuracy, not power, and favours the intelligent player who can ma-

nage his or her game.

La ACADEMIA GNK Golf está presente en los cinco de los seis cam-

pos, y son de referencia a nivel regional y nacional. Se caracteri-

zan por ofrecer un amplio abanico de productos de enseñanza de

golf de la mano de profesores experimentados. Todos los campos

cuentan con amplías aéreas para la práctica y la enseñanza del

golf: greens de prácticas, zonas de juego corto y amplios driving

range para practicar los golpes largos. Para clases en la acade-

mia de GNK Golf se requiere cita previa con sus profesionales.

GNK Golf Tour pondrá su punto y final el 24 de noviembre en Mar Menor GolfDespués de 5 pruebas, con un lleno absoluto en todos los campos,

el circuito de golf más prestigioso de la Región de Murcia y acabará

en el campo de GNK Golf de Mar Menor el 26 de noviembre. Será

este día en el que conoceremos a los grandes ganadores del circui-

to, premiados con abonos anuales para los seis campos de GNK

Golf, relojes de TAGHeuer (Pedro Luis Olivares), botellas de Cham-

pagne MUMM, material deportivo de las marcas: Nike, Wilson Staff,

un viaje a las islas Madeiras con alojamiento y golf, y otros muchos

After 5 events, with all the courses absolutely full, the most presti-

gious golf circuit in the Region of Murcia will finish at GNK Golf Mar
