Symptom

Following error occurred while trying to view Webi Report in BOE XI 3.1

"Cannot initialize Report Engine server (Error: RWI 00226)"

Environment

l SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.1  l Oracle Weblogic 10g

Reproducing the Issue

The Environment is Distributed where Web Tier is installed on different machine.

1. Log into CMC and navigate to Webi Report 2. Try to view the Webi Report

Note:- Able to view Webi Report from CMC launched from WACS Server.

Cause

Webapplication deployed in Weblogic not able to communicate to Web Intelligence Processing Server

Resolution

Open the request port of WIPS(Web Intelligence Processing Server) bi-directionally on same machine where WIPS is running.

1. Login into CMC launched from Weblogic and navigate to Webi report in CMC 2. Able to view the report
