ABCD 101

ABCD es Amor traducido en gestos y acciones concretas ayudando a los necesitados con los medios para superar dificultades y obstáculos. En el siglo II, San Ireneo dijo que "la gloria de Dios es el hombre plenamente vivo" (Gloria Dei vivens homo). De eso se trata ABCD. Al apoyar los muchos ministerios que cambian la vida de la arquidiócesis, los fieles católicos de nuestra arquidiócesis quieren que las personas vivan más plenamente en Cristo. Y hacemos esto de muchas maneras: a través de nuestras Caridades Católicas, a través de nuestros programas de educación religiosa, nuestras escuelas católicas. Hacemos esto a través de nuestro apoyo a nuestros seminaristas y sacerdotes. Hacemos esto en nuestros programas de preparación para el matrimonio; nuestros ministerios laicos que forman personas para ministrar a los afligidos, a los confinados en casa, a los encarcelados. Cada regalo abre la puerta a un mañana mejor, una vida mejor y un futuro más esperanzador. Incluso un pequeño regalo puede hacer una gran diferencia. ABCD is Love translated into concrete gestures and actions by helping those in need with the means to overcome difficulties and obstacles. In the second century, St. Irenaeus said that “the glory of God is man fully alive” (Gloria Dei vivens homo). That is what ABCD is about. By supporting the many life-changing ministries of the archdiocese, the Catholic faithful of our archdiocese want people to become more fully alive in Christ. And we do this in so many ways — through our Catholic Charities, through our religious education programs, our Catholic schools. We do this through our support of our seminarians and priests. We do this in our marriage preparation programs; our lay ministries that form people to minister to the bereaved, the homebound, the imprisoned. Every gift opens the door to a better tomorrow, a better life, and a more hopeful future. Even a small gift can make a big difference. Individually, we can change our own life, but together, we can change the world. Thank you for uniting with me to be One in Faith, One in Hope and One in Charity.
