1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.5.1 Manufacturer Qualifications: Company specializing in manufacturing products specified in this section with a minimum five years documented experience.

1.5.2 Installer Qualifications: Company specializing in performing Work of this section with minimum two years documented experience with projects of similar scope and complexity.

1.5.3 Source Limitations: Provide each type of product from a single manufacturing source to ensure uniformity.

1.5.4 Mock-Up: Construct a mock-up with actual materials in sufficient time for Architect's review and to not delay construction progress. Locate mock-up as acceptable to Architect and provide temporary foundations and support.1.5.4.1 Intent of mock-up is to demonstrate quality of workmanship and visual

appearance.1.5.4.2 If mock-up is not acceptable, rebuild mock-up until satisfactory results are

achieved.1.5.4.3 Retain mock-up during construction as a standard for comparison with

1.6 PRE-INSTALLATION CONFERENCE

1.6.1 Convene a conference approximately two weeks before scheduled commencement of the Work. Attendees shall include Architect, Contractor and trades involved. Agenda shall include schedule, responsibilities, critical path items and approvals.

1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

1.7.1 Store and handle in strict compliance with manufacturer's written instructions and recommendations.

1.7.2 Protect from damage due to weather, excessive temperature, and construction operations.

1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS

1.8.1 Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

2.4 HEAT REFLECTIVE CONCRETE AND WOOD DECK COATING SYSTEMS

2.4.1 Basis of Design: Finish Coat TEX-COTE CLEAR-SEAL Protective Clear Top Coat.2.4.1.1 VOC: Less than 50000 ppm (50 grams per liter).2.4.1.2 Application: Second coat applied 4 to 6 hours after first coat. Airless spray is not

recommended.2.4.1.2.1 Horizontal Surfaces: Two coats at a rate of 400 - 600 sq. ft per gal (9.817 -

14.73 sq. m per liter) per coat.

2.4.2 Basis of Design: Finish Coat TEX-COTE COOL-TEC Concrete and Wood Deck Coating. Heat reflective water based exterior coating for aged concrete and wood. Solar reflective, heat and ultraviolet stable pigments. Reflects sun's heat, lowering exterior surface temperatures up 40 degrees F (22.2 degrees C) compared to traditional paints.2.4.2.1 VOC: Less than 50000 ppm (50 grams per liter).2.4.2.2 Application: Second coat applied 4 to 6 hours after first coat. Airless spray is not

meter/liter ) depending on the porosity and finished texture desired.2.5.10.3 Texture: Smooth.2.5.10.4 Texture: Sand.2.5.10.5 Texture: Fine (medium).2.5.10.6 Texture: Coarse.2.5.10.7 Color: ______.2.5.10.8 Color: As determined by the Architect from manufacturer's selection.

2.5.11 Basis of Design: Finish Coat TEX-COTE S-T-R-E-T-C-H Elastomeric Coating. A high performance terpolymer elastomeric coating with a 100 percent acrylic latex base elastomeric resin providing up to 400 percent elongation.2.5.11.1 VOC: Less than 100000 ppm (100 grams per liter).2.5.11.2 Application: A rate of 80 to 100 sq. ft per gal (1.96 to 2.45 sq. m per liter).

Coverage rates may vary due to wall surface textures and porosity. A minimum of 9 -10 mils (22 mm to 25 mm) dry film thickness is required.

2.5.11.3 Color: ______.2.5.11.4 Color: As determined by the Architect from manufacturer's selection.

2.5.12 Basis of Design: Finish Coat TEX-COTE Stone-Tex System. A 100 percent acrylic terpolymer. Recommended over selected TEX-COTE exterior textured coating base coats to provide a variety of simulated appearances such as granite, marble, sandstone or stone. Finish coat available in smooth or fine texture.2.5.12.1 VOC: Less than or equal to 100000 ppm (100 grams per liter).2.5.12.2 Application: Base coat is applied at 40 to 55 sq. ft per gal (0.98 to 1.35 sq. m per

liter). Splatter coats will vary depending upon finish and texture. Smooth splatters will range between 80 to 125 sq. ft per gal (1.96 to 3.07 sq. m per liter). Fine texture splatters range from 60 to 85 sq. ft per gal (1.47 to 2.09 sq. m per liter).

2.5.13 Basis of Design: Finish Coat TEX-COTE Elastomeric Roof Coating. A high solids latex acrylic coating formulated to impart superior resistance to ponding water conditions. It has excellent adhesion to fresh urethane foam, galvanized metal, aluminum, concrete, cementitious and clay tile.2.5.13.1 VOC: Less than or equal to 50000 ppm (50 grams per liter).2.5.13.2 Application: Elastomeric Roof Coating I; Base Coat (Gray): Apply at a rate of 1 to

1-1/2 gallons per 100 square feet (0.62 liters/square meter) to produce a dry film thickness of 10 to 13 mils (0.254 to 0.33 mm).

2.5.13.3 Application: Elastomeric Roof Coating II; Top Coat (Bright Reflective White): Apply at a rate of 1 to 1-1/2 gallons per 100 square feet (0.62 liters/square meter) to produce a minimum dry film thickness of 13.8 mils (0.35 mm).

2.6 ARCHITECTURAL TEXTURED AND SMOOTH COATINGS

2.6.1 Basis of Design: Finish Coat TEX-COTE TRIM-COTE. A 100 percent acrylic resin exterior finish to be applied over Primer 27 W, and approved substrates. Weather, salt spray, moisture and mildew resistant.2.6.1.1 VOC: Less than or equal to 50000 ppm (50 grams per liter).2.6.1.2 Application: 175 to 225 sq. ft per gal (0.98 to 1.35 sq. m per liter) depending on

surface porosity and texture. Application: Spray, roll or brush.2.6.1.3 Finish: Satin2.6.1.4 Finish: Semi-gloss.2.6.1.5 Color: ______.2.6.1.6 Color: As determined by the Architect from manufacturer's selection.

2.6.2 Basis of Design: Finish Coat TEX-COTE COLOR-TEX. Textured interior/exterior seamless water-based urethane acrylic latex wall finish. For use on a wide range of wall surfaces, such as drywall, concrete, concrete block, brick, stucco, wood, glass, plaster, metal, and plastic. Fungus and mildew resistant highly breathable, and fire resistant.2.6.2.1 VOC: Less than 300000 ppm (300 grams per liter).2.6.2.2 Application: 175 to 250 sq. ft per gal (4.29 to 6.14 sq. m per liter) depending on
