To oversee and / or support the implementation of these projects. To keep a high standard of records and produce reports to the directors of Lybster & Tannach prior to each business meeting. To attend meetings of Lybster & Tannach, also to produce minutes of meetings. To carry out all other reasonable duties and tasks required by the directors as the scheme evolves. Job Title: Lybster & Tannach Local Development Officer

Responsible to: Lybster & Tannach Directors

Overall Purpose of the Job & Key Tasks

1. To stimulate and support the development and implementation of the Lybster & Tannach non-formal educational bursary scheme.

2. To support the role of local groups, organisations and individuals, in particular through providing information, advice, capacity-building and hands-on support.

3. To enhance communications and networking between individuals and community groups. 4. To generate and manage funding support for prioritised projects. 5. To ensure high standards of service and record keeping on all activities undertaken on behalf

of the Lybster & Tannach non formal educational bursary scheme are maintained. 6. To support the efforts of individuals, organisations groups and the local community council

development plan. 7. To carry out any other relevant duties that may arise as the work of the scheme evolves.

Person Specification:

Key Criteria Essential Desirable

Qualifications and Training

A good standard of education to Higher level or equivalent.

Relevant degree or vocational equivalent.

Work Experience A record of working successfully at voluntary and/ or community level.

Experience in project development

Experience of use of communication technologies and other practices in place of face to face communication.

Experience of contributing to debate at public forums.

Knowledge skills and abilities

Excellent interpersonal skills; able to influence and motivate others.

Excellent presentational and written communication skills, including formal papers and reports.

Strong self-discipline to work effectively in absence of close management.

Knowledge of project funding sources & application processes.

Ability to work under pressure to meet agreed deadlines.

Familiarity with other funding initiatives.

Practical experience of community benefit/ funding initiatives.

Technical Skills Good general computer competence (Word, Excel, Web, email, PowerPoint).

More advanced ICT skills including Website development.

Adept at telephone & video conferencing.

Job Circumstances Able to be based within the Lybster & Tannach Community.

Flexibility to travel and access to own vehicle.

Occasional overnight stays to attend training events conferences.

Evening and weekend work may be required.

Ability to establish contacts with other public and voluntary agencies in the area.

Early start date.
