Meeting is called to order at 3:05 P.M.

I. Guests: Kathleen (Mobile Leeward App) @3:15pm A. Couple of years ago Kapiolani Community College did a grant for their 1st year

Expericnce (FYE) took that money to create an app that did very well. Brought it to the marketing system who ended up liking it. Worked with what the students wanted. The more looked at, the more liked it. Honolulu Community College was the next school, followed by Leeward Community College who is in the process. Kapiolani said don’t worry about the cost. The App is connected to Banner. Gives you information about you as a student, your classes, etc.

B. Lexer: Do we know the user-ness of the students at Kapiolani? C. Kathleen: Yes, they have that stats.

D. Kristina: Didn’t know that Kapiolani has an App. Is this similar to UH Hilo’s app? E. Kathleen: Hasn’t seen that app.(Showcasing the Kapiolani App) App also shows, in

real time, class availability. Professor information is linked directly into the app, with photo and contact information. Also shows location of class, and your location in real time. On the map, can select form a list of locations of student services to easier find the location of the service’s office. Lot’s of bus stops on maps, locates emergency phones and AED device. Events will tie into the online calendar. Online calendar is expensive and features campus events and studnet life campus events. Very limited on events not on campus

F. Kaui: Does this app send notifications?G. Kathleen: with the events calendar and academic calendar. - Trying to make the app a

useful tool for the students. Asked how long it would take for the Leeward app to lauch, response was between 2-3 months. The banner is the longest part of that process.

H. Kimo: What is Banner?I. Kathleen: Student information system - all the information that is based on the

student. When app launches, trying to find how is the best time to get the word out. NSO is one option. Really likes the feature, “Bulletin Board” where students can post - lost and found, ect. Bulletin Board would really benefit for getting word out to students. Especially with Student Government. Staff person needs to monitor it. The Bus feature shows : bus stop locations, routes, length of time to bus reaches bus stop.

J. Kaui: Will there be a chat room, like the library for students to ask questions?K. Kathleen: The bulletin board. - Should have a sub committee on the app for ideas. L. Lexer: Can we add DSAs on the map? M. Kathleen: yes, can have an icon on the bottom to find DSA’s. N. Lexer: Will there be a Wai’anae map?O. Kathleen: Because it’s one building, maybe we can have a link to find the location of

the school. P. Kaui: Will it have a map on the inside? Q. Kathleen: Doesn’t think so. R. Kaui: Will students access the same student services on the app (Wai’anae students)

S. Kathleen: Yes the banner will do that. - The Directory has staff information (Anything we want to be listed as part of the directory) , phone number, location, email, etc. Will et counselr know that they will become more accessable. When it comes to hours of the office, can assign that to the office so that they can update thier own hours when needed.

T. Marc: Can Student Government be on the directory? U. Kathleen: You all are already on there. Student Government, SAB, Love Pono,

Possibly IMLee Sports. Can have pictures and links, (Wants to do that with NSO). *Facebook page needs to be responsive* Campus Dining - the culinary faculty has PROMISED that they will input menu items into the app. Also have a direct link to LauLima. Honolulu Community College app - “How Do I?” Similar to “Frequently Asked Questions” No search bar in-app. If the app is done correctly, then you won’t need a search bar.

V. Kristina: In regards to scheudle, how will it work for dual enrolled? Will classes from both campus pop up?

W. Kathleen: Yes it will. Due to the database. X. Kristina: Are they any plans on promotion? Y. Kathleen: Yes. An Idea have someone driving around to promote. Multi-prong on

how to get the word out. Z. Kristina: Anything SG to do for you regarding this project? AA. Kathleen: Been so busy these past weeks. After this weekend, will put all this

information on a google doc to be reviewed. Will find out more regarding Wai’anae. Minimum approach would be have Wai’anae listed under the directory and the link would lead to a site to reach out to the Wai’anae campus.

A. Ho‘opili hou presentation: Kimo and Shura1. Shura: A great 4 days and 3 nights. Really liked that SG came together, no

drama. Best part of the weekend was going to see Hokuleia- really stocked. Showed son his pictures. Went over how they navigate - mind blown. Liked the stations (Workshops). The one thinking outside the box outside, favorite session. Best thing was spending 4 days together. Found out his roomates quirks and what not. Loved his roommates. Talked with Marc till 3:00am. Getting to bond.

2. Lexer: In terms of perspective, people thought the Hokuleia was boring. 3. Kimo: Loved the business trip. Loved the workshop a lot. Learned the

importance and builduing of bridges and not barriers. Also learned about different types of personalites in a workshop. Really liked. Different styles on how we work. Working with other people. Mitch’s workshop - didn’t understand the alien numbers game and thinking outside of the box. But learned that thinking outside of the box leads to being more creative. Also learned how to introduce yourself in 3rd person. Became a more honest, toughtful story. More connected. Learned about other Student Governments worked.
