With the music industry bursting with talent, I wanted to find out how difficult it was for young, up and coming artists to make a name for themselves and how the they work not only as music artist but self-promoters.

There are countless musicians and music bands out there that all offer something unique, special and never before heard music but how do these artists make themselves stand out from the crowd

I met with Daniel Siddall from the band the Kicklips where he told me his top tips on how to separate yourself from the crowd and ultimately get the attention of managers, producers and music labels in the industry.

Whether you’re a hip hop artist, singer song writer, member of a up and coming music band or even if your talented drummer making a name for yourself can be a struggle but it is an essential part in having success in the music industry.

In order to have success as a music producer, recording artist, singer song writer we have to grow an audience which can be frustrating when first getting started.

Making a statement in the music industry is important and making your own brand has to be unique, memorable and eye-catching. Memorable lyrics are a great way to stand out from the crowd, if your lyrics tell a story and people can relate to it your music will be listened to and loved by thousands

People remember things that are out of the ordinary or new so make sure your music, style, brand and overall look is unique but also true to yourself. Tell your story, what got you into music, why you’re so passionate about music and who your inspirations are.

Build an online community, share your music, use social media apps such as twitter, Facebook, Instagram to promote yourself and let your followers/fans know when your next appearing live or when the next song is out.

With new talent emerging from all around the world how do we as artist separate ourselves from the crowd and get the maximum exposure for our music.

Sharing and advertising your work is key and through social media platforms artists can do that all for free.
