First I asked one of my friend to draw an outline of a graphic I found online so I can manipulate it as my own. But as the photograph was dark and the pencil lines weren’t defined enough I had to manipulate it on photoshop before moving on.

This was the outcome of using photoshop. To achieve this, I use the brightening tool by going into adjustments and picking brightness/contrast. The reason for doing this is so that the photograph is bright enough to be able to work with for an example tracing over it.

The first thing I had done on illustrator is I used the pen tool to try and draw an accurate outline of the drawings face. For the curves I had used Youtube to help me achieve them. I used black as an outline as it is distinctive.

The next thing I did was use the fill tool to try and change the colour of each feature and object to make the illustrator have more life to it than it just being plain. One of my objectives was to shown expression with my images. The reason I had chosen purple lipstick instead if red is because, I didn’t want it to be too mature looking as this is for a younger audience.

After doing that I added a white background to the illustration to make the other colours pop out a lot more such as the red hearts for the sunglasses.

When drawing the lipstick I found it quite difficult so I decided to use a png lipstick from google as a stencil because it makes it a lot easier.

Next I decided to add the hair this is where it quite tricky but I managed to get some help. I used different shades of purple so the hair doesn’t look like one big blob. I added the hair on my restarted illustration.
