HEAVERS FARM PRIMARY SCHOOL
PARENT AND CARER’S LEARNING NEWSLETTERYEAR 1 SPRING 2 2015
Dear Parents and Carers
On the other side of this letter is a topic map, which shows all of the areas of the curriculum that your child will be learning this term.
We have lots of exciting learning opportunities arising over the next few weeks. Spring 2 kicks off with Science Week, where the children will develop their questioning and investigative skills in various ways. We also have a mini zoo coming into school and the children will get to meet a variety of animals.
Towards the end of the term we will be taking the children on a trip to Kew Gardens as this will help support their Science topic ‘Green Fingers’. See letter for details.
Polite reminders: Please can you make sure that your child has their reading diary in
school everyday. Can you also ensure that their diary is signed each week otherwise a 10 minute detention will be given.
All children need a PE Kit in school, which includes a Heavers Farm House T’shirt, Tracksuit bottoms, a sweatshirt and trainers/plimsols. Failure to provide your child with the correct PE Kit will result in a 10 minute detention.
Homework is given every Friday and should be handed the following Wednesday or a 10 minute detention will be given. Although we ask you to support your child with their homework, please can you ensure that it is their work and not copied or written by somebody else.
Please do check your class blog to keep up-to-date with learning we have been completing in class and for any important messages. Also we enjoy reading and sharing comments made on the blogs so please allow your child to make comments.
Many thanks for your continued support. From the Year 1 Team; Mr Rodgers (Jade Class), Miss Tillin (Emerald Class), Miss Desai (Diamond Class), Mrs Smith and Mr Silvestri (Peridot Class).
