Denise Nelson will tell the story of Amber's origins and its history. The complete story of why, how, what and where for Amber. Amber is one of the few organic gems used in jewelry around the world. Denise will share her travel adventure to include an inside look at the most amazing Bernstyn museum collection of Amber and practical information about characteristics and identification. Many samples of different varieties from various sources will be shown to provide a hands-on educational experience. Denise is a Jewelry Appraiser, NAJA, and Graduate Gemologist (Gemological Institute of America). She started her business, the Inner Circle, over 28 years ago. She also designs custom jewelry, and sells fine gems, diamonds and pearls. She has traveled the world over, visited museum collections behind the scenes, and appraised exclusive private collections. Her visits to the actual source of precious gems, like the Diamond mines in South Africa and Namibia, Emerald mines in Brazil, Sapphire mines in Thailand and now the Baltic Amber regions have provided her with much accumulated knowledge and insight.
