Change Exposure Mode to multiple shots

Setting Exposure Control - Nikon

Setting Exposure Control - Nikon

FREEZING ACTION – primary objective

Birds in flight, race horse, car race, jet plane, skier

Use a high shutter speed. Ex 1/1000 sec

Use small aperture for high DOF – f16-f22

Pan camera using tripod or brace yourself

Use multiple exposure mode – HI speed

STOPPING ACTION with movementCyclist, runner, water fountain

Use shutter speed fast enough to stop main subject but slow enough to blur background.

Example: 1/500 sec.

Use a medium aperture for moderate DOF f8-f11

Pan camera using tripod or brace yourself

Take multiple exposures in HI speed mode

SLOWING ACTION with movementWaterfall, river, dancers at party

Use slow shutter speed – 1/30 sec and below

Use a tripod whenever possible

Use single shot mode (or shoot carefully)

Set moderate f-stop for sharpness – f8-f11

Experiment with different shutter speeds

Practice, practice, practice!
