FRIENDS CORNERby Meghan Radomske
Friends of the North Vancouver District Public LibraryExecutive Chair
The Friends of the North Vancouver District Public Library hosted another successful book sale this February with over $4300
raised! Thanks to everyone who supported the fundraiser by volunteering, buying books, and spreading the word. Your contribution helped us donate our final $5000 to the “Excite Your Library Experience” fundraising campaign. As part of this three-year fundraising campaign, the Friends have donated $31,200 to NVDPL for book carts, a fireplace, some cozy reading furniture, a new seminar space, a storytime carpet, a children’s mural and amenities for the District Library Gallery.
Please join the Friends of the Library on Saturday, April 28 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the District Library Gallery on the second floor of Lynn Valley Main Library for an art reception featuring artist Laurel Terlesky. This is a chance to chat with the artist, enjoy beautiful art, mingle with community members and enjoy some free refreshments.
Last but not least, please join us on Sunday, April 29 at 1:00pm for the Friends of the Library Annual General Meeting. We will be welcoming new executive members, and are still looking for someone to take on the position of Vice-Chair. This is your chance to give back to your community and guide the directions of the Friends of the Library. Visit www.nvdpl.ca/about/friends, contact [email protected], or, pick up a brochure from your local branch.
