Chemor Inc. offers greater flexibility in development and manufacturing of customized products that meet specific customer requirements, which goes beyond the criteria of competition large-scale production.

Through the years, thanks to a dynamic and experienced Research and Development team and Chemor Inc. has earned a solid reputation for innovation and reliability. This reputation is particularly noticeable by its involvement in prestigious projects such as construction of several metro stations (Cartier and Concorde), the Casino de Charlevoix, IREQ and several other Hydro-Quebec plants and most recently, the fountain of Tournay and the Champlain promenades in the Quebec City region.

In 2010, Tri-Tex co inc. has acquired Chemor Inc. to continue the adventure.

HistoryEstablished in 1964 by Dr. Ted H. Waid.

Initially, the company was focused on developing and manufacturing of adhesives for footwear.

However, in the late sixties, the company has focused its activities towards the chemistry of epoxy and began to develop innovative flooring made of epoxy-based polymers. In the seventies, Chemor Inc. managed to develop its first waterproof coatings synthesized from coal tar or epoxy solvents and thereby acquired a strong expertise in the field of coating for parking.

Today Chemor Inc. is serving the building industries, construction and public works. The diverse range of Chemor Inc. specialty chemicals is for new construction, renovation and maintenance.

Chemor Inc. managed to distinguish itself from other international and U.S. players in developing a more comprehensive range of flooring solutions based on polymers such as adhesives, binders, grouts, waterproof coatings, mortars, primers, sealers , coatings and decorative products for protection against weathering and chemicals. This helps to provide contractors and architects fully integrated and complete coating solutions.

MissionTo be the industry leader in our field, as acknowledged by our customers and suppliers, in offering an unparalleled level of technical service and customer satisfaction. The commitment of ever y employee will ensure our continued growth and success.

MixMix only the quantity which can be used before the expiry of the pot-life.

Combine Parts A and B in the ratio indicated on thecontainers. Mix well, using a non-sparking low speed electric mixer, until a homogenous blend is achieved (2-4 mins.). Use at once.

ApplicationApply with a roller, low pressure or airless spray. On rough floors it is preferable to use spray application. Ensure goodpenetration of the adhesive in the pores of the concrete.

The applied product should be allowed to dry until it becomes tacky. This tacky stage lasts about 4 hours @ 21°C. Higher temperatures accelerate while lower temperatures prolong the setting.

The adhesive must not be allowed to loose its tackiness before placing the fresh concrete or mortar. If CHEMORBOND looses its tack, apply another thin coat.

Avoid all contamination while the surface is being treated. Traffic should be forbidden. If traffic is necessary, sprinkle dry stone chips onto the coated surface to provide a traffic path.

BinderCan be used for bonding polymer reinforced mortars, CHEMORTOP, providing time is allowed for the solvents to evaporate before placing the mortar (approx. 2 hrs. @ 21°C., 4 hrs. @ 10°C.).

CONSTRUCTIONc

Keep mixing time to a minimum to prevent entraining too much air.The consistency of the bonding grout should be that of thickcream.

Placement

Bonding groutFor an optimum adhesion, bonding grout should be placed immediately after mixing and brushed-in with stiff-bristled broom. This assures good penetration of the grout intothe concrete. Do not exceed 3mm thickness.

SurfacingGrouted section should be topped immediately with mortar/concrete mix.

Never allow the grout to dry (loss of stickiness) when placing the topping. Strike off and immediately trowel mix. Avoid overfinishing which may cause water exudation, drying and cracking.CHEMORCRETE WR modified Portland cement mixes are more sticky, therefore more difficult to finish than conventional mixes.

CuringWet curing for three days assures optimum property development of the mortar. It is very important to prevent rapid drying of the mortar during this period.Do not use solvent containing curing membranes

CleaningClean tools with water, immediately after use.

SecurityProtect eyes and skin against alkalinity of cement and possible irritation by polymer.Wash with clean water. If irritation persists, consult physician immediately.Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

Uses

InteriorsTo assure waterproofing of concrete floors subject to pedestrian and light vehicular traffic:mechanical rooms, laundries, laboratories, etc.

LimitationsNew concrete must be water cured, at least 28 days.

The surfaces to be coated must be sound, smooth, clean, free of curing membrane and dry and at a temperature of at least 15°C.

If repair or restoration of the floors is required, consult Chemor for recommendations on materials compatible with the CHEMORMEC system.

ChemormecDescriptionCHEMORMEC is a system comprising a waterproofing membrane followed by an anti-skid coating for useon mechanical room floors.

CHEMORMEC, applied in the liquid state, provides a continuous waterproofing membrane for concrete.

The system cures rapidly by polymerization.

CHEMORMEC consists of two materials which do not require prepriming of the concrete.

1. Elastomeric membrane CHEMORFLEX 350Is a polyurethane/epoxy copolymer which incorporates the superior properties of both polymers.

The elasticity of the polyurethane is combined with the adhesion and exceptional toughness of the epoxy.

2. Anti-skid finish CHEMORCLAD 150 or CHEMORCLAD 200CHEMORCLAD 200 being solventless, 100% solids coating is applied in a single coat (see Table: Typical characteristics) compared to two coats of CHEMORCLAD 150.

These flexibilized epoxy based coatings are designed to be compatible with the elastomeric membrane while at the same time providing a tough matrix for the incorporated granules.

Directions for use

Application of membraneCHEMORFLEX 350Under agitation, add Part B (hardener) to Part A (resin) inthe ratio indicated on the package.

Once the mixture is homogenous, pour it on the floorand spread it evenly with a notched squeegee calibrated togive a minimum wet thickness of 0.60mm., corresponding to a coverage of 1.97m²/L.

Back-roll the membrane to assure uniform thickness and complete coverage of the surface.

For interior applications, at normal temperatures of 15-23°C., allow membrane to cure a maximum of 24 hours before applying the wear course.

At higher temperatures and for exterior applications, apply the wear course as soon as the membrane becomes tack free.

Longer curing times of the membrane could impair the adhesion of the wear course.

If recommended curing times or temperatures are exceeded, it will be necessary to activate thesurface of the membrane with Chemor activator SV-42.

Application of finish coatsCHEMORCLAD 200Under agitation, add Part B (hardener) to Part A (resin) inthe ratio indicated on the package.

Apply the mix uniformly to the specified thickness.

For a single coat application (CHEMORCLAD 200) broadcast #24 silica sand over the surface to provide an anti-skid finish.

ApplicationNOTE:• Humidity of the concrete should not exceed 15%.• Prior to use, condition the materials to a temperature of

18- 26°C.• A temperature of at least 15°C is required for

application and curing.Lower temperatures prolong curing time.

• For maximum waterproofing, the system should be applied up to a height of 10 cm. at joints of floor -wall and floor-columns.

Surface preparation

New concrete Relatively smooth surface.

Wet curing should be provided (liquid curing membraneswill detract from adhesion).

New or aged concreteMeticulous cleaning is required to removeall contaminants (eg. laitance, grease, oil, paint, etc.) anddefective concrete.

Preparation of the surface can be by mechanical or chemical means.

Rinse with water under pressure to remove all debris and residues and let dry.

To restore the surface, masticate cracks and fill cavities consult a Chemor representative.

Generally, cracks and construction joints should be covered in advance with a coat of membrane 0.50mm thick and 150mm wide.

CHEMORFLEX 350 MembraneUnder agitation add Part B (hardener) to Part A (resin) in theratio indicated on the containers. Continue mixing till the material is homogeneous. Using a notched squeegee spread liquid membrane at minimum thickness of 0.75mmcorresponding to the coverage of 1.32m²/L. Roll-back the material to ensure complete contact with deck surface and a uniform thickness. For interior applications, at normal temperatures of 15-23°C., allow membrane to cure a maximum of 24 hours before applying the wear course. For higher temperatures and for exterior applications, applythe wear course as soon as the membrane becomes tack free. Longer curing time of the membrane could impair the adhesion of the wear course. If recommended curing timesor temperatures are exceeded, it will be necessary to activate the surface of the membrane with Chemor activator SV-42.

CHEMORCLAD 1700 Wear courseMix well separately Parts A & B prior to blending them together. Under agitation add Part B (hardener) to Part A (resin) in the ratio indicated on the containers.Continue mixing till the material is homogeneous.Spread out the mix with a notched squeegee to meet specified minimum thicknesses for different deck andramp areas (refer to Table III).Roll-back the material to ensure complete contact with the membrane and a uniform thickness.

Aggregate incorporationBroadcast pre-selected aggregates (cf. p.1 «Aggregate») onto wet wear course coat until it becomes fullysaturated.

CHEMORCLAD 1800 Tie-coatWithin 24-72 hours remove any excess of aggregates from the surface of the wear course coat. Spray apply at specified thickness a tie coat of CHEMORCLAD 1800.

Allow to harden for 2-4 days, depending on ambient temperature, before opening to vehicular traffic.

Being a vapor-barrier, the coating must not be exposed to hydrostatic pressure : concrete slabs on grade should be protected by a vapor barrier.

Low temperatures extend curing time, whereas higher ones shorten it.

For best results, minimum ambient and substrate temperature of 15°C is recommended during the application and curing of the coating.

During application and curing of the coating in locations where food products are stored, adequate ventilation must be provided to prevent contamination of the food (taste, odor, etc.) by volatile constituents of the coating.

Coating can be exposed to short intervals of temperatures up to 60°C.

Temperatures for continuous service should not exceed 40°C.

WaterproofnessTo ensure waterproofness against possible light cracking of concrete, a prior application of an elastomeric waterproofing membrane CHEMORFLEX 350 is recommended (e.g. mechanical rooms, computer rooms, etc.).

Chemorseal N 40DescriptionCHEMORSEAL N-40 is a single component, solvent containing, silane based sealer, designed to give deep penetration into the pores of mineral surfaces such asconcrete and masonry.

CHEMORSEAL N-40 is not a surface coating : it penetrates deeply and chemically reacts with silica containing substrates to form permanent bonds.

Thus the problem of lifting, scaling, and eventually debonding of the coating film due to moisture infiltration is avoided.

AdvantagesSimplicity and economy of use.

Does not change the appearance, the color or texture of most sealed surfaces.

Significant reduction of capillary penetration of water and of water soluble aggressive substances (e.g. acid rain).

Major reduction of chloride ion penetration (de-icing salts):protects reinforcing steel.

Reduces penetration of air pollutants (soiling).

Upgrades the appearance of facades and of exterior walls.

Improves freeze/thaw resistance.

Reduces efflorescence.

Is not a vapor-barrier : allows equilibration of water vaporpressure across walls (breathing).

Untreated adjacent surfaces must be protected against splashes.

Chemorseal N 100DescriptionThe Chemorseal N 100 is a silane compound at 100% solids, which increases the penetration into the pores of the mineral surfaces to be sealed.

The Chemorseal N 100 penetrates deeply and acts chemically with the substrates containing silica to create a permanent bond.

This avoids the problems of lifting film coatings caused by water infiltration.

In addition, it protects the reinforcing steel against corrosion by reducing the penetration of water and chloride ions from deicing salts.

Features and BenefitsIt does not cut the steam and breathe well, allowingequilibration of water vapor.

It preserves the color of the treated surface.

It reduces the penetration:• Capillary water• Aggressive agents soluble in water such as acid rain• Chloride ions such as deicing salts• Soil

UsesConstructing base plates for machinery and towers for transporting electricity.Filling cracks.Grouting prestressed cables.Grouting pre-placed aggregates.

Directions for useThe quantity of water required when using CHEMORPLEX «A» is 5 to 10% less than that for a conventional grout, at equivalent fluidity.

To obtain maximum expansion of the grout after being placed, prepare only the quantity for each mix that can be used in less than one hour.

The following table serves as a guide to proportioning by weight.

FormsIf required, they must be tight, properly adjusted and impervious.

Expansive grout should be restrained from flowing out in order to ensure maximum density, bond and strength.

PumpingPumps and hose fittings must be tight to prevent loss of water during work.

Chemorplex ADescriptionCHEMORPLEX «A» is an additive for Portland cement grouts designed to produce slow, controlled expansion while increasing fluidity.

The product is offered as a grey powder combining a balanced blend of fluidifying, expanding and water reducing agents.

Contains no chemical corroding substances (e.g. calcium chloride) that could attack steel.

AdvantagesCHEMORPLEX «A» can be used in all Portland cement grouts (type 10,20 or 30) with or without sand, fly ash or pozzolanic material.

CHEMORPLEX «A» is added as only 0.5% by weight on the cement (plus fly ash if there is any).

Grouts that use CHEMORPLEX «A» are exceptionally fluid, cohesive, workable and non-slumping.

Before initial set, grouts containing CHEMORPLEX «A» position themselves along all containing restraining surfaces due to gaseous expansion.

This expansion stops as the mortar hardens.

ApprovalCHEMORPLEX «A» is approved by Hydro-Quebec for use in expansive grouts for the construction of base plates of transmission towers. (Report available on request).
