Stallions are required to wear CHAPS stallion discs in order to compete. Riders and owners must be members of the Coloured Horse & Pony Society - CHAPS (UK), or the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association (TGCA), or The Showing Register (TSR). exhibit from the Lostock Blue Challenge at this Show. The lucky participants will be selected by a “talent spotter” who will be watching your class carefully and will

indicate who will be invited forward to the Masterclass in the indoor Championship Arena. Please take full advantage of this extremely valuable lesson as your place is non-transferrable. Exhibitors will receive a

commemorative rosette. Your eminent show judge will instruct competitors on valuable aspects of production, turnout and ringcraft. During this session, which is open to audience viewing. Three exhibitors

will be selected to go forward to the Evening Performance for presentation of the The CANAAN FARM CHAPS UK Junior Bursary Award with prize money awards to be redeemed against equestrian training. Lucky

winners must submit invoices to CHAPS UK Treasurer (Carolyn Mouat) within 9 calendar months of the show date to redeem the fees to the value of their prize awarded.

CHAPS (UK) CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW – Rules and Conditions of EntryEntries may be refused at the discretion of the CHAPS Board of Directors, the CHAPS Chairman, the Company Secretary, the CHAPS Championship Show Director or at the request of Arena UK.

CLASHING of CLASSES: Every effort has been made to avoid classes clashing, but if an exhibitor finds their classes overlap, it is suggested permission be obtained from the Steward and Judge to give individual shows, ridden or in-hand, early in classes and then move to another ring; however, exhibits will not be placed unless they (or a representative) are present for final presentation of awards. Classes may not be held up for missing competitors. Exhibitors are reminded to consider clashing of either horse/pony or rider/handler BEFORE entering. NO refunds will be made for any missed or clashed classes. Whilst we have tried to give class times, the stated times are a guideline only. Daytime classes will not run before the stated times but may run later. Evening Performance sections may run either a little earlier or later than stated but the start time for Evening Performances will not be earlier than stated.

HORSE WALKS: Must be adhered to. Pedestrians should not walk in, or cross, the horse walks.

ALL CLASSES are run in accordance with guidelines in current CHAPS UK Members’ Handbook plus all relevant subsequent amendments; and the Rules in this Schedule. Any entry submitted for this Show (whether before or on the day(s)) shall be deemed as acceptance of all pertaining Rules by exhibitors, riders and/or handlers, owners and all related parties (e.g. grooms, helpers etc). All exhibits to be shown according to their “type” description as issued by CHAPS UK. Any mention of “CHAPS” is taken to mean “CHAPS UK”. 1 The ruling of Judges/Officials is Final. CHAPS UK reserves the right to substitute judges as necessary. 2 Full and correct attire must be worn by all competitors and their grooms. Hard hats must be worn whilst mounted on

any part of the Showground. Grooms must wear suitable hats whilst attending in the Ring. All Junior Exhibitors (18 yrs and under at 1st January of current year) MUST wear correctly fitting CURRENT safety standard hats whilst mounted.

3 All ages are taken to be as at 1st January of the current year. 4 The Orgainsers reserve the right to amalgamate classes or to alter any class/ring without explanation. 5 All dogs must be kept on leads at all times. 6 Neither the Organisers, Landowners, Committee or Agents of the Society accept liability for any accident, loss,

damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land or any person or property whatsoever, whether caused by negligence, breach of contract or in any way whatsoever.

7 CHAPS judges must not knowingly Judge any horse/pony that is or has been owned, bred, produced or exhibited by themselves or immediate family or business partner. (Immediate family - grandparents, parents/parents’ partners, husband/wife and partners, brothers and sisters, sons/daughters, step grandparents, step parents, step brother/sister, legal guardians, father-/mother-/sister- and/or brother-in-laws).

8 No horse/pony under the age of 4 years old may be ridden on the showground. No galloping allowed on the showground except as required by the Judge.

9 Any person participating in any way at this Show who conducts themselves in a manner which might bring the Society into disrepute will be asked to leave the Showground; may be subject to disciplinary proceedings and/or membership may be revoked.

10 Exhibitors shall take good care of, and shall not cause any damage or suffer any damage to be done to the site/showground or to any furniture, fittings, equipment, stables or other property therein and shall be responsible to pay for any damage thereby (including accidental damage) caused by an act of neglect or in use.

11 All named Trophies are Perpetual Trophies and must be returned in same condition they were awarded in, Trophies:one month before the following year’s Championship Show. Failure to do so will result in implementation of a fine and names posted in “Name & Shame” column in ‘a World of Colour’. Please return trophies to Marion Hardy, “Hardy”, Knutsford Rd, Chelford, Macclesfield, Cheshire SK11 9AS to arrive . No trophy BEFORE 1st AUGUST of current yearreturns will be accepted at the Show.

12 Stallions: Where stallions are eligible to enter (with the exception of Breeds of the World, Miniature, Progeny, Traditional Cob and Rideability ) they must be CHAPS UK Graded and Stallion Disc(s) must be worn in the ring. classes

13 All exhibits World Breeds/ (with the exception of those in Miniatures/Traditional Cob section and Ride Ability, Solid Progeny), must be registered with CHAPS UK. Owners/exhibitors must be paid-up current showing members of CHAPS UK. Where height limits are stated these are taken to be AT MATURITY in all cases.

14 No entries accepted without correct fees including First Aid tion.ENTRIES: compulsory contribu Postal & On-line Entries closing date as stated on Entry Form/On-line system. AT THE SHOWEntries after this date to be made at surcharged fees. See Entry Fees for details. 15 The stabling of horses or ponies in trailers or horseboxes/lorries overnight is NOT permitted. Stables must be left clean and mucked out. No responsibility will be accepted by this Society nor its representatives for any items of tack, grooming kit, clothing, horses or ponies etc left in stable area or whilst at the show.

16 PRIZE MONEY: All prize-monies (with the exception of Foal Futurity) MUST be collected by 10 minutes after close of last Gala Performance from Show Office; ; uncollected monies will be no prize money will be posted out at a later datedeemed a donation to this Show.

17 Refunds: A 50% (only) refund will be granted on entries where a valid veterinary or doctor’s certificate is received within 7 (seven) days of the date of Show. No refunds on stabling.

18 In the event of cancellation, a 50% Admin Fee will be deducted from any Entry Fee refunds, please send s.a.e. should this occur. No refunds on stabling given.

19 Height Certificates: Spot checks may be carried out at the CHAPS Championship Show at the discretion of the show committee – a maximum of 3cms will be allowed for shoes and show “hype”; however, should any exhibit measure in excess of 3cms above its stated height the exhibit may be required to re-present to JMB for measuring.

20 Dope Testing: May take place at this Show under the guidelines set down in the current CHAPS (UK) Members’ Handbook.

21 Objections: Any objection must be made in writing, by a current CHAPS (UK) Member, within 30 minutes of alleged offence and accompanied by £100 cash deposit, refundable if objection is upheld.

22 King of the Ring Finals: Require pre-qualification to enter; qualification cards will be handed out at all relevant shows to eligible exhibits. See Rule 25 below for more information.

23 Where classes 2018 & 19 Qualifiers/QUALIFICATION CARDS: are designed as 2018 and/or 2019 CHAPS Championship Show Qualifiers you are required to have the relevant CHAPS Qualification Card signed in the ring, by the judge, at the time of qualification. Qualification will be awarded without notthis Card. Please apply (sending SAE) two-three weeks in advance of this Show to CHAPS (UK) Admin using the

template opposite. on production of all template information above for each Cards will be available at this Showexhibit on Wed 8.00pm-9.00pm; and as per times stated below. The Admin Office is situated adjacent to the main Show Office.

24 EVENING DRESS: Where Evening Dress is requested this is taken to be: IN-HAND – Gents, dark suit, bow tie; Ladies, dark suit, black/blue trousers/skirt & suitable top, suitable shoes. RIDDEN – Blue or black jackets, stock, top hat/hunting cap (adults only). Juniors to wear correctly fastened current safety standard hats.

25 Finals Classes: Where a class is prefixed with ‘F’ before its number it requires pre-qualification to enter. Entries will NOT be accepted without quoting Affiliated Show Number (AFN) for Show at which qualification was gained (this is generally printed either on that show’s schedule cover or in the section of the schedule where the CHAPS qualifier classes are located), and CHAPS Qualification Card Number - (Card MUST be produced at the Show when requested by Show Secretary to validate entry). For LR/FR Finals CHAPS Qual Card Number only need be quoted.

26 Where a section or class is intended for Home Produced - this is taken as: Produced and exhibited by an individual who does not receive any remuneration from the showing, riding/schooling or production of show horses. Individuals employed in other equestrian areas shall be classified as “Home Produced eligible” for the sake of the CHAPS Home Produced classes/finals/championships. Any breaches of this ruling will be taken seriously and may result in disqualification from future classes.

27 . These classes are aimed at the Amateur/Home-Produced combination of horse/pony, rider Kaleidoscope Classesand handler who do not make a living out of exhibiting, producing or show livery. Open to any CHAPS UK Registered horse or pony owned, ridden (and in Lead Rein, led by) current CHAPS UK Showing Members. Horse/Pony not to have been ridden by a professional within the current or previous year. Not to be ridden by judge. The class is open to animals with or without a JMB height certificate. Any animal which competes in this section without a height certificate CANNOT compete in any other height restricted classes at the CHAPS Championship Show which would otherwise require a height certificate.
