    REQUIREMENTS

    IMEC runs a cadet program on behalf

    of our members at the Maritime

    Academy of Asia and the Pacific

    (MAAP)

    STEPS TO BECOME IMEC

    CADET

    Step 1: Watch the video at

    imec.org.uk/cadets

    Step 2. Download and Fill-up IMEC

    Application Form

    Step 3: Take IMEC Exam

    Step 4: Download and Fill-up MAAP

    Application Form

    Step 5: Take MAAP Exam

    Step 6: Wait for the result. If passed,

    you will undergo BOA interview and

    PFT scheduled by MAAP

    Step 7: Pass IMEC Interview

    Step 8: Pass the Medical Exam

    Step 9: Pass the 1.5 month IOP in MAAP

    Step 10: Be Enrolled!

    The International Maritime Employers'

    Council (IMEC) is the only

    international employers' organisation

    dedicated to maritime industrial

    relations. Established over fifty years

    ago, we operate from offices in

    Hampshire UK, and Manila in the

    Philippines and represent over 220

    shipping companies located all over

    the world.

    Our members are individual shipping

    companies, both owners and

    managers, large and small, operating

    all types of ships including dry bulk,

    container, cruise liners, livestock

    carriers, reefers and tankers. Together

    they operate more than 11,200 vessels

    registered in more than 60 different

    countries and employ in excess of

    300,000 seafarers of 68 different

    nationalities.

    1. Eligible applicants must be any one of the

    following:

    - High School Graduates (old basic education

    curriculum)

    - College Level

    - Graduating Senior High School Student

    2. All applicants must be/have:

    - Male / Female, Single

    - Natural Born Filipino

    - Physically Fit

    - Aged 18 and not more than 23 years old

    - Height: Male 5 ft. 4 in. (162.5 cm) and

    Female 5 ft. 2 in. (157.5 cm)

    3. Has a GPA of at least 83%

    4. Had never been officially admitted at MAAP

    NOTE: Strictly comply with qualification

    requirements. Inaccurate records may disqualify

    an applicant.
