If you're doing your best, you won't have any time to worry about failure. ~ Quoted in P.S. I Love You, compiled by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
Quote of the Day
Yesterday has been washed away by the sea of time but today is pliable to our thoughts, today is moldable to our will, today will surely determine tomorrow.
Thought for the Day
Heaven Jokes
A man died and went to The Judgment, they told him , “Before you meet with God, I should tell you — we’ve looked over your life, and to be honest you really didn’t do anything particularly good or bad. We’re not really sure what to do with you. Can you tell us anything you did that can help us make a decision?”
The newly arrived soul thought for a moment and replied, “Yeah, once I was driving along and came upon a person who was being harassed by a group of thugs. So I pulled over, got out a bat, and went up to the leader of the thugs. He was a big, muscular guy with a ring pierced through his lip. Well, I tore the ring out of his lip, and told him he and his gang had better stop bothering this guy or they would have to deal with me!”
“Wow that’s impressive, “When did this happen?”
“About three minutes ago,” came the reply.
Cemetery Joke
‘Bob’s Tavern’ was right next door to a cemetery. One day in mid winter a drunk stumbled out of the tavern. Due to his drunk state he wasn’t careful where he was going and he fell into a freshly dug grave.
“Help!” Screamed the drunk on the top of his lungs, “I’m freezing!”
Before long another drunk sauntered out of the tavern and made his way towards the first drunk’s cries.
“I’m freezing!” Screamed the first drunk again.
“Of course you are” scolded the second drunk, coming closer. “You kicked off all of the dirt they had covered you with!”

Family law property settlement I – what is a property settlement and how can I have a property settlement with my ex-partner?
These are short articles about legal issues that may interest you. They are not legal advice. You should always get individual legal advice for your situation.
There are 2 articles in this topic. This article will deal with what a property settlement is after you have separated from your spouse or your de facto spouse. The second article will deal with how the Family Court of Western Australia approaches property settlement – the law it applies.
A “property settlement” is the name given to a formal and final division of the property of a relationship after a couple who is either formally married, or in a de facto marriage, separate.
A de facto marriage is a marriage-like relationship. There are a number of factors that determine whether the relationship is a de facto marriage.
You can do a property settlement as soon as the marriage or de facto marriage is over, or even before. The reason for having a property settlement is to terminate the financial relationship between the parties.
You can settle your property in several ways. One way, which will not be discussed here, is to enter into a financial agreement under the Family Court Act 1997 (WA)(CI). This can be complex and expensive. You will need expert family law advice and assistance.
Another way is that sometimes people just informally reach agreement and divide the property between themselves without formalising the agreement by Court orders. One problem with this informality is that either of you can still make an application to the Court for a property settlement until one year after your divorce. Or, if you were in a de facto relationship, either party can still make an application to the Court up to 2 years after you have separated.
The second problem is that an informal agreement is not enforceable. Thirdly, what you decide may not be fair and equitable. So an informal division of property in this way is not recommended.
Finally, if part of your informal property settlement involves transferring real property or a share in real property, stamp duty will be payable on the transferred portion. This is avoided however if real property or a share in real property is transferred pursuant to Family Court property settlement orders (see below).
Where you and your ex-partner agree on your property settlement, you can ask the Family Court to make property settlement orders to reflect your agreement. This is the third way to settle your property.
It is called an application for orders “by consent.” It is done by filing a Form 11 Application for Consent Orders (see the Family Court of WA website) with the Court. The Court will make sure that the agreement is fair and equitable and will make the orders if it is.
Note that there are some criteria a de facto marriage must satisfy to allow the parties to apply to the Family Court for property settlement orders. Your de facto relationship must:
• Have been of at least 2 years in length or
• there must be a child of the relationship under 18 years who one party is responsible or caring for OR one party has made substantial contributions to the property or welfare of the family and there would be a serious injustice if they were not allowed to apply to the Court.
It does not matter if the de facto marriage is between a same sex couple.
There are some other requirements to allow you to apply to the Western Australian Family Court, rather than the Family Court in another state or territory.
In cases where you and your ex-partner cannot agree on property settlement, you can make an application to the Court to ask the Court to make the orders you want for property settlement. The Court generally requires you to comply with the “pre-action procedures” before you are allowed to file an application. We dealt with the pre-action procedures in an earlier article and will not deal with them here. Do not forget however that attending dispute resolution such as a mediation can be a very good way of resolving your dispute about your property settlement.
Where you file an application for the orders you want (because you and your ex-partner cannot agree) your ex-partner can file a response, seeking the orders he/she wants. The matter will then proceed through Court towards a trial date. Note that the Court is continually trying to get you both to reach agreement, which the Court would then formalise into orders and most matters do not proceed to trial.
An application for orders for property settlement is a different application to one for a divorce. You can apply for orders in relation to children in the same application as an application for property settlement, but you cannot apply for a divorce in the same application.
Once property settlement orders are made by the Court, either by consent, or after a trial when people cannot agree and the Court makes the decision, those orders terminate the financial relationship. They stop either of you making another application to the Court later, unless there has been a miscarriage of justice, such as where there has been fraud or duress (putting unlawful pressure on a person).
An application for:
• orders by consent or
• for the Court to make the orders you want
must be made:
• within one year of a divorce if you were formally married or
• within 2 years after separation if you were in a de facto relationship.
If you are applying outside of these time limits you must also make an application for the “leave” (permission) of the Court to file your application late. This is a separate application and it is up to the Court’s discretion as to whether it will grant leave. You should always make your application to the Family Court within time.
In the next article we will talk about how the Court approaches a property settlement if it is asked to make a decision.

menurut Family Court Act 1997 (WA)(CI).
pembahgian harta menurut persetujuan kamu.
Family Court of WA) dengan Mahkamah.
keputusan.

Air Fresheners - Chemical
Cocktails
Many c omme r c i a l l y a i r fresheners contain a cocktail of toxic chemicals that aren't healthy for us or the environment. Some of the
chemicals you may find:
• Formaldehyde - known
carcinogen
• Phenol - skin and nervous
system irritant
• Petroleum distillates such as
butane and propane
• Methylformamide - Organ system toxicity, cancer, developmental / reproductive
toxicity
• Butanoic acid - Neurotoxicity, Endocrine disruption, Organ
system toxicity
• Nitro- and polycyclic musks—linked to cancer, hormone
disruption
.. and the list goes on.
One of the other problems of these air fresheners is that these toxic chemicals accumulate in carpet over time, which is particularly of concern to
parents with young children.
The chemicals also wind up on our shoes and feet to be taken into the outside environment
where they wind up in soil.
Added to all that, there's the non-recyclable or reusable packaging of these products—millions of spray cans and plastic bottles hitting our landfills each year; not to mention the p r oduc t i on o f chemica l ingredients and the packaging. A recent trend in air fresheners are the 24/7 products that spray automatically every X minutes—
whether it's needed or not.
Something else to know about air fresheners is that we tend to build up a tolerance to them and get used to the smell and start using more to get that same olfactory "kick". If you really feel the need to use these products, try rotating the fragrances you use regularly. The whole air freshener product life-cycle is an
environmental nightmare.
Green commercial air
fresheners
Thankfully, some manufacturers are responding to consumer concerns regarding the health and environmental issues associated with these products and commercial "green" air
fresheners can be purchased.
Still, be wary of these products—a common trick companies play is to say something along the lines of "contains natural pine scent", which it may well do—but what abou t the o the r ingredients? Check the labels and if the label is unclear, contact the company for a
complete ingredient list.

The object is to insert the numbers in the boxes to satisfy only one condition: each row, column and group of squares enclosed by the bold lines must contain the digits 1 through 9 exactly once.
The rules for different size and shape puzzles are pretty much identical. The different size puzzles simply require a different set of numbers.
