Abstract (English): Nanotechnology is not the mere fabrication of items on the nanoscale, for it entails whole new laws of physics that seem nothing short of insane to us, thus widening our limited viewpoint to comprise part of the impossible as feasible. Once every few decades an invention changes the landscape of some aspects of our life. Industrial revolutions improved our everyday lives while medical revolutions expanded our lifespans. In the path we’re leading, most of sciences will be reduced to computer science, enabling faster and more accurate results. This is due to the exponential growth of computer power and the ever-declining cost that rendered computers affordable to each individual today. As everything that is good is traced back to energy, its demand is ever-rising and the damage to our environment due to the unsafe production of electrical energy is increasing with every passing year. Fortunately, nanotechnology can make energy production green, therefore vastly lessen humans’ disastrous footprint on nature. In addition, nanotechnology has the potential to provide us with godlike powers and abilities to mimic Mother Nature, to eradicate all kinds of diseases and to even bring senescence to a halt. Ι. Περίληψη (Ελληνικά): Η νανοτεχνολογία δεν είναι απλώς η κατασκευή αντικειμένων σε νανοκλίμακα, αφού εμπεριέχει καινούργιους νόμους της φυσικής που φαίνονται εξωπραγματικοί και με αυτόν τον τρόπο διευρύνουν την περιορισμένη οπτική μας γωνία έτσι ώστε να συμπεριλαμβάνει ένα κομμάτι του αδύνατου ως εφικτού. Κάθε μερικές δεκαετίες μια εφεύρεση αλλάζει τη ζωή μας. Οι βιομηχανικές επαναστάσεις βελτίωσαν την καθημερινή μας ζωή ενώ οι ιατρικές επέκτειναν τη ζωή μας. Στο δρόμο που είμαστε, οι περισσότερες επιστήμες θα γίνουν κομμάτι της επιστήμης τον υπολογιστών, επιτρέποντας γρηγορότερα και πιο ακριβή αποτελέσματα. Αυτό συμβαίνει λόγω της εκθετικής αύξησης της υπολογιστικής ισχύος και της συνεχούς μείωσης του κόστους αυτών που κατέστησε τα υπολογιστικά συστήματα αρκετά φτηνά για τον καθένα σήμερα. Καθώς κάθε τι καλό ανάγεται στην ενέργεια, η ζήτησή της αλλά και η ζημιά στο περιβάλλον λόγω της επικίνδυνης παραγωγής της ανεβαίνουν συνεχώς. Ευτυχώς η νανοτεχνολογία μπορεί να κάνει την παραγωγή ενέργειας «πράσινη» και ως εκ τούτου να ελαττώσει κατά πολύ το καταστροφικό σημάδι της ανθρωπότητας στη γη. Επιπροσθέτως, η νανοτεχνολογία έχει τη δύναμη να μας δώσει ικανότητες που μοιάζουν θεϊκές και δυνατότητες να μιμηθούμε τις δυνάμεις της φύσης, να εξαλείψουμε τα περισσότερα είδη ασθενειών, ακόμη και να σταματήσουμε τη γήρανση.
