www.understandquran.com GRAMMAR: In the last lessons, you learnt the words for he, they, you, you all, I, and we. In this lesson, we will learn the words for his, their, your, your, my, and our. In Arabic, these are not independent words; they are suffixed to nouns, verbs, or prepositions. We, therefore, learn these forms by attaching them to a noun بَ ά (Lord; Sustainer and Cherisher; the One who takes care of us and helps us grow). Please note that these attachments occur in the Qur’an almost 8,000 times, i.e., almost once in every line! They are extremely important. Make sure that you practice them thoroughly using TPI. Make sure to learn two forms at a time to make it easy. After learning the six terms, you can then repeat the whole table. *We have already taken into count the word َ ά ب(199 times) in Lesson No. 2a, therefore the remaining words occurr 772 times in the Qur’an. Give special attention to اَ ، ن مُ ، ك ي ، ـَ ك(your, mine, your, our). After learning the above words, practice spoken Arabic using the sentences above. We can also have: َ كُ ن ي د: Your Deen; ي ن ي د: My Deen.
