AbstractsThe artificial sand-fixing vegetation restoration process and its soil amelioration effects for moveable dunes in Horqin Sandy
Land were studied. The results showed that: the effects of such measures as 1.0m1.0m grass grids and sowing of Caragana microphyliaon artificial sand-fixing for the moveable dunes were significant, and the surfaces of dunes were fixed in 34 years. On the conditions of
fencing closure, the effects of sand-fixing with suitable vegetation restoration measures were also significant in 23 years. The soil nutri-
ents in artificial sand-fixing communities of Caragana microphylia varied with the development of communities. At soil depths from 0 to30cm, the order for the contents of OM, available Potassium, total nitrogen, hydrolysable nitrogen, total phosphor and available phosphor
were as follows: 11-year-old communities, 6--year-old communities, moveable dune.
