A stratovolcano is a tall volcano with many layers of hardened lava, volcanic ash, and other various things.3HistoryMost damaging eruption:18151815: known as the year without summer because crops and livestock failed.1815: Killed 100,000 people, also largest in recorded history.

It has had many eruptions, and it was here even before we had recorded history, so it is very old.4Living Near a VolcanoIt has become a beautiful place where tourists can visit.There is a also a hotel on it where you can go on various treks on the volcano.

It is very good for the economy and it has helped people see the good in bad things.5About the VolcanoThis volcano is active.There is igneous rock feature, and there is geothermal activity.

Here is a picture of Mount Tambora erupting. There is a lot of ash that rose up into the sky and polluted the air.6Interesting FactsIt is a caldera volcano.4300 meters high.
