So Dawn decides she wants the deer of the Mayan people to become even

more famous than Bambi.

For hunted and eaten, we have several

Mayan vases which show deer being carried away by hunters

(though most are white-tailed...) but you can adapt the image to the brocket

deer.

This map shows where you can find the

white-tailed deer.

There are two species of deer in Guatemala.

Red brocket deer, Mazama Americana.and white-tailed deer, Odocoileus virginianus.

Dawn, the Mayan Deer of 2000 years ago,

will invite you to learn about her adventures in the fields and

forests of Guatemala.
