Pathogens

Disease-causing organisms that are so small they can only be seen through a microscope.

Types of Pathogens

Bacteria- tiny one-celled organisms Viruses- smallest pathogens Fungi- more complex bacteria, but

cannot make their own food Protozoa- one-celled organisms that

can make their own food

Examples of Pathogens

Bacteria- Pink Eye, Strep throat, Lyme Disease

Viruses- Colds, Chicken Pox, Fever, Polio, Rabies

Fungi- Athletes Foot, Ringworm Protozoa- Malaria
