SUMMARY

It about person called Todd Anderson, who spends his days managing a customer call center in Seattle until his new task, along with those of the entire office, are outsourced to India. Adding insult to injury, Todd must travel to India to train his new replacement. As he navigates through the chaos of Bombay and an office paralyzed by constant cultural misunderstandings, Todd yearns to return to the comforts of home. But it is through his team of peculiar yet likable Indian call center workers, including his friendly and motivated replacement, ( Puro), and the charming,(Asha), Todd realizes that he has a lot to learn -- not only about India and America, but about himself. He soon discovers that being outsourced may be the best thing that ever happened to him.

THE VALUES MENTIONED IN A STORY

In this scene we see that a group of Indians taxi drivers gather around Todd, where they're trying to influence him and moves his feelings, to pick one of them, and as it is known in India, People’s emotions taken into account in decision making, where is Todd from culture that are more logical. Scene 1

SCENE 2

We see here Todd in the train station, and there's a person next to him tried to say hi, and Todd like he wanted to catch his train before it's departure, which make the person beside him help to ride the train before its launch. After that, when Todd ride the train, there was a small child sitting on the chair, he stood up in trying to let him sit, and when Todd sat down, the child sat on him, in humorous and unexpected scene. In Indian culture, people have close connections and interactions, whereas, Todd belong to culture that focuses in rules and reason. (Trinder, Intercultural Studies, September 8, 2015)

In this scene we see that the poor child hugs Todd, in trying to steal his wallet. While Todd thinks that the child hugs him in order to express his joy, because he gave him some money, what it was supposed to be, by saying to him: "don't touch me", but later he recognize that the child tricked him. Todd came from culture that focuses on reason, while the child is from culture, behavior are not made explicit. (Trinder, Intercultural Studies, September 8, 2015)

SCENE 4

In this scene, while Todd and Puro chatting with each other about celebration days, and how these days are beautiful to them, spending with family and parents, and how much does Todd missed his mother. Todd said:" I barely see them, I don't live with them". Puro answered astonishment: "there's something I don't understand about American life, you don't live with the parents, strange!!" Puro is from culture where family comes in first place, whereas, Todd belong to culture that focuses in responsibilities. (Trinder, Intercultural Studies, September 8, 2015)

SCENE 5

In this scene, Todd and Asha are talking with each other. Asha says to Todd she's betrothed since the age of four and is preparing for the marriage of person she barely know him, by family friends, traditionally, and that is an inherited habits taking place in Indian families from long time in generations. Todd believes that this thing is crazy, and that a person must choose his life partner by himself. Todd is from society premise of liberty, whereas, Asha from culture that take a more pragmatic approach. (Hofstede, Hofstede's cultural dimensions, 2010)
